My dad is home
From a rainy Friday night when [name removed] met me in the lobby, to speaking with [name removed] and [name removed] to being greeted by [name removed] and [name removed], to the number of answered requests to [name removed], we have found the perfect home for my dad. There are no words to convey the gratitude and the peace of mind we feel, since my dad has moved in to Village On The Park. This is an incredibly difficult decision and knowing he is so well cared for by the team at Village On The Park with grace, respect, dignity and always a smile, we absolutely made the right choice!

Wonderful Family Feeling
I toured this community with my daughter and honestly she brought me kicking and screaming. After speaking with [name removed] the sales person I felt better. She made me feel comfortable and was patient with us. She had a warm smile and It made me trust her. All of the staff said hello as we walked down the hall. I didn't feel like a stranger... it felt like home. It was a neighborhood. [name removed] made a delicious dish and my server was friendly. It is one of my top 2 choices.

The new ED
The new ED is the most amazing property manager I have ever witnessed. Work ethic is way beyond any I have seen before. She gives 110% and encourages her teammates not to be mediocre to themselves and the team. Who ever made the decision to get her onboard made a good one.

Food tour
We visited the Village on the Park in Plano to find a place for my mom. She has particular tastes, and food plays a significant role in our decision-making. Upon entering the community, we were impressed by how clean and beautiful it was. We scheduled a lunch tour for that day. During lunch, my mom ordered the crab cakes, and I chose an omelet. Everything was great; the food was hot and freshly made! My mom was very pleased with the service, and the young lady who assisted us was incredibly accommodating. This is a great place to begin our home search journey!

My children moved me to Plano from Kansas to be closer to them after my husband passed away. I never thought I would ever live in an assisted living community and I was very soured by the idea. We visited many places and weren't having much luck until my daughter's friend told us about Village on the Park Plano. It did not look like, or feel like the other communities we had seen. It is sophisticated and the people are lovely and very down to earth. One of my favorite things to do is going on outings. The activities department plans such diverse places to go. We have been to museums, the arboretum and a wide variety of restaurants. I made friends rather quickly. I was nervous the first time I went to the dining room I thought it would be like grade school where everyone already had their clicks but to the contrary I had multiple invitations to join at different tables and still do. The care staff is beyond helpful and are very personable. I'm so glad we didn't give up looking.

A Place for Dad
Our mother passed away from cancer a few months ago. Our dad was worn out having been her main caretaker and the house was becoming much toohard to keep up with. We started looking at assisted living communities in the Plano area. The first two we toured made us rethink our decision but then we toured The Village on the Park Plano. It might sound cliche but it was if we knew we had found a home for our dad after the first 15 minutes we were there. The apartment was very conducive to his needs. The staff we interacted with from care, housekeeping, activities and management exceeded expectations. The residents were smiling and introducing themselves telling us what a wonderful place it was to live. We didn’t look any further. Dad has been there for 5 months now and is very happy! He has a group of friends he plays bridge with (which is something he and mom had done for many years). The food is excellent and there is no shortage of friends for him to join for meals. 5 stars plus!!!

A Family Feel
We knew that we have found the perfect place for our mother after being in the community for 10 minutes. It has such welcoming feel. We were greeted with hellos, smiles and welcomes from staff, residents and other family members. The sales director [name removed]showed us around and introduced us to residents where we did some due diligence and talked about how they liked living there. We heard nothing but good and positive reviews. Mom has lived at the Village on the Park Plano for one month now and has settled in nicely. She has made a number of friends and partakes in many of the activities they have to offer. We thought the transition from her home of 48 years to an assisted living community would be difficult but so far it has been a breeze. The care staff is wonderful, gracious and respectful. We have joined her for meals and when the waitstaff see her coming they get her sweet tea and a straw without even asking. We highly recommend The Village on the Park Plano to anyone looking.

Best decision we ever made!
My father and mother moved to the facility 6 years ago when it was [community removed]. We could not be happier. They moved into the community because my father was no longer able to give our mother the care she needed and was not able to take care of the house and everything that came along with it. Moving them to the them [community removed] was the best decision we made. The care staff took excellent care of out mother and provided the support my father needed to care for her in his own way. We lost my mother 4 years ago but my father has stayed. He has many friends, there are lots of things for him to do daily and so many of the original staff are still here now that is Village on the Park Plano. The new Executive Director [name removed] is fantastic. In the short time she has been here she has come to know many of the residents and family members and is so good to the staff and it shows because the morale is very high. Walking into the Village on the Park Plano is like being home.

Love this community - feels like home!
We have looked at many senior living options for my mom but stopped after our first visit to Village on the Park. There was something about the feeling we got right when we walked through the door that told us this place would be different. My husband and I learned that the community had just done some remodeling after commenting on the warmth and welcome feel we felt in just the lobby. During our visit, we met many staff members that were friendly and acknowledged us as we walked around. The residents were equally hospitable and a few of them stopped to tell us how much they enjoyed living there. It was nice to feel so at home and we could instantly see that my mom would feel safe, secure and happy here. The Executive Director never made us feel like we were being sold a bag of goods; she was genuine and was truly interested in finding out what my mom needs. Thank you to the staff of Village on the Park. You've welcomed my mom to her next chapter in style! We are grateful.

Mom had a great experience here
Mom was here for 7 months until she passed away. I felt she received very good care; the facility is kept clean; the meals were very good. Her caregivers treated her with dignity and respect throughout her steady decline. She and I became very close to several of the caregivers and activity managers.

It's a nice place. They take good care of my parents but you need to check on them frequently. Also, the food is so so and the choices are limited especially if you're trying to eat Mediterranean style food.

Property has gone downhill from years ago
My parents loved this place in the beginning. It’s lovely, original manager years ago was awesome. Activity director is great and loved by many, she is always upbeat and giving hugs to guests as well as residents . Lots of activities. Food is so so but has its good days, aids come and go but there were a couple awesome ones but there is usually a shortage. Current mgm is barely seen and if you do, is not pleasant but condescending to guests and residents. Have seen residents in wheelchairs pushing themselves back to their room from meals while mgm just watched, dining room help would assist. Nurse sent my family member to hospital and told family after the fact, but we found our parent after calling 911 operator and close hospitals. Nurse is on shift but not full time. They did kept them safe during Covid. Our parents were removed for a better place. If considering here, ask a lot of questions. Had several rate increases during a year staying it for for aids.

Great for most, not for all
The positive is that it is a beautiful facility with a lot of activities. It's for lower level care. Unfortunately, with my dad's dementia he wasn't taking advantage of everything. I feel like communication was poor with families.
