We are very happy
My brother is doing great, a talker, and keeps everyone busy. I think the nurses are wonderful. When I walked in they were all supposed to be playing this dice game but my brother commandeered the dice and started telling jokes and I thought this one woman was going to choke, but it was hysterical.

I'm so glad I was asked to do a review! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this community. My neighbor moved into the LOOP last year and has been having such a wonderful time. She doesn't communicate much but participates as much as possible and she laughs and laughs so much here, I swear this is better for her than living in her house these past few years. Everyone treats me like family when I walk in and the staff is so inviting, literally to anything and everything going on, you walk in and you are involved. Thank you so much for the opportunity to review, I look forward to many more happy times ahead!

Many hearts
We visit every Tuesday morning, we come in right after breakfast and my aunt is always sitting by the window waving to us. The caregivers are always so pleasant to us and bring us coffee then we play cards for a bit, whatever my aunt wants to play. A few other residents gather around and watch and we all chat. My family is very satisfied with her care and we are happy we chose this place, we visited so many but this turned out to be the best one.

Very Nice
All is well, the caregivers are doing a great job with mom, who is on hospice. She is actually improving so i don't want to jinx it but fingers crossed she comes off of hospice and back to normalcy. I am pleased with the food choices and quality and how they went the extra mile to get her some desserts she really missed. Mom can be a tough one but the staff handles it well.

My sister
My sister is doing so well, this is her second year here. She loves the staff so much and her resident friends, loves trivia and the piano and guitar always being played. I can say personally the staff goes far out of their way to do anything they can to make her day special and our visits special. We are very happy overall.

WOW!
Where to start... the music, I feel, is their jam, there is always live music here and i just found out its one of the residents that play and his friends join him. It happened to be salon day so everyone was coming to get their hair done and then listening to three guitars and oldies, so many singing along and toes tapping! SO much goes on here but music is my brother's favorite thing to do. He has never smiled more. Thank you to the Auberge for making this happen.

Great Place
My mom has been living here all of 8 days, I can tell she has been having a great time because she made friends very quickly. The other residents have all said good morning to her today and everyone stopping to talk for a bit, this is so much better than what she was doing sitting in her living room at home all day, watching tv. I was so worried we weren't doing the right thing and now I'll be able to sleep and actually finally be happier than I have been in a while knowing she is doing so well. I stopped by the director's office just now and thanked him for keeping his promise about how my mom will have a great time here, that was no lie. Thank you to all!

I am a hospice nurse, this is my first visit here. I love this quaint space, all the residents are here talking around a table while others are trying to finish this puzzle. One of the residents has everyone in stitches, he's so funny. Flowers were just brought in to arrange, which is so nice. The caregivers and nurse seem to know everyone very well, residents seem very happy, I like it here very much, glad I'll be returning regularly.

brother here
We are visiting my brother in law right now, he is listening to three gentlemen playing guitar and singing Country Roads, he is mouthing along. This is the best thing we could have heard on this visit, he loves music so much and we always encourage him to sing along. The guys playing are friends of a resident who is also playing and they are great, wow!

So my mom, who has lived here for 2 years really loves the music here. Last week they had a guy that played the piano and squeezebox, i dont know what they call it. But she said she sang along the entire time and it was a hoot. She likes the food aad snacks, shes an eater, always eating but i guess it works for her. She's happy and content here. I love the caregivers, they all deserve a hug XOXOXO

Very nice
My sister in law recently moved in. Everything they promised has come true so thats a good thing. She loves the food here and loves the puzzles, even the big ones. My wife and i looked at many places and this one being smaller got our attention. It worked and there is so much hands on here. The nurses are very nice and seem to know my sister in law very well already.

Relief and Thank You
As a family, we are grateful, thankful and relieved to have our lives back and my sister is back to her old self and has taken to new friends. I think she has two favorite caregivers because she talks about both of them all the time. My brother in law is back to his old self too so hooray for all of us!

so proud
My neighbor lives here and we are all so proud of her and the progress she is making. For a while we were worried and then her son moved her in here and she has improved each and every day. Yesterday I went during lunch to visit and she was doing trivia with a few others, it was so much fun, the staff was in on it as well. If this keeps up it will have changed my thinking about places like this. I was always worried that this is a place people go to die but not here, I see great things happening all over.

truly sweet
I just want to say that the nurses here that care for my brother are truly sweet. They are so very friendly and always use the kindest words with him, he has had it rough for many years and he can be difficult but the staff really shines and the brother I haven't seen in years peaks through every so often, I am truly amazed. Grandma
My grandma lives here. We just visited today and had so much fun. A therapy dog was visiting and my grandma loves dogs so much, she misses her dog and i had tears in my eyes when i saw the dog not wanting to leave grandma's side, it was the best feeling I've had in a while. The Auberge employees were very kind and offered us something to eat and drink which was very nice.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Illinois’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Illinois’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored The Auberge at Lake Zurich 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
