I had originally used the services of a local agent and placed her in a group home. That was a big mistake. After major safety issues arose at that home (which resulted in two ER visits), I contacted A Place for Mom and was referred to Lifestream, where I moved her as soon as I could. The difference is night and day. There is a full time nurse on staff. Three full, delicious meals are served at a community table, and if a resident doesn't care for what is on the menu, she can order something different. She has her own room, with a television that has cable. She has her own bathroom. There are community activities, and a large common area with a TV, DVDs, games, and books. Most importantly, a certified caregiver is awake and available to help 24 hours.
