Enter Prepared. Stay Positive. Come Out a Winner.
I live in a senior independent facility. It's three stories and an older building. They offer 1 and 2 bedrooms as well as studios. I really can't give you a generated square footage because most of the units offered come in varying sizes. So you may, if your local come and take a tour and enjoy a lunch on us. We have an activities director who is wonderful. Every month there is a printed calendar of events that you can pick up from a table near the concierge. desk. Weekends are kind of of days for ourselves with no real planned events due to the main staff is off. We have concierge. staffed 24/7 so there is someone there all the time with exceptions if they have to respond to a resident's call. We are provided with a life alert pendent that you wear 24/7 you press and it alerts them of your location and they can get to you quickly. We are very close, appropriately 3miles from the hospital. I find that a plus.

A wonderful place to live independently! The social options are wonderful, if you like a lot of friendly residents and staff to interact with. [Name Removed] gave me a full tour of the whole facility both inside and out, which included the beautiful rose gardens and outdoor seating. Disappointed.
They seem to work hard at keeping the building up and clean, and the staff is generally very nice and helpful. They've changed management again recently though, and everything has gone up a lot in cost - some of it is ridiculous and the food and dining experience is awful.

Friendly staff
I have been a resident now for 7 months and I have come to enjoy it more each day. Our management team works very well together and respond to our concerns quickly. We have a great activities co-ordinator who has a great variety of things for us to pick from. Many of us can not walk without a walker and every morning she does a different version of a seated exercise that is fun for all. Our meals are served to us in a dining hall on the main floor and it is very nice. I love living at Independent Village of North Raleigh. The location is also great. You are close to great medical facilities and we are close to a Harris Teeter and Wal-Mart.

Review for Independence Village of Olde Raleigh
Staff is great. Food and the dining area are nice, although if you arrive 15 minutes before the meal times end. Plates, silverware, and cups are always clean. The food will be cold and usually in a to go box. Most of the staff are probably cleaning up behind doors because there is a considerable difference between when meals are first served and right before they end. My mom usually eats one meal a day, and when I show up to have it with her, I am now charged. There are many fun things available here for my mom to do here. She just chooses not to participate until late in the afternoon. that's her choice, and I can't convince her to change. The floors are much cleaner after the cleaning last week, thank you. The dryer in the laundry room to the left doesn't dry that well, but the right one works great. Again, the staff here is fantastic. They are always very helpful.

friendly and knowledgeable staff
Everyone here at Independence Village are wonderful. They are so knowledgeable about their jobs from your tour to your decision to move in. I am extremely happy here and it's due to my initial contact with the staff. I am in a one bedroom and there is ample room in the complete apartment. There is only a small designated space you call your kitchen and just two counter top burners as your stove. No oven. The bathroom is relatively small but it's doable. If you walk with a walker of any sort it is small for using it in there but I don't have a problem. Storage is very limited and I strongly suggest scheduling a tour at your convenience, bring a note pad to take notes, take pictures or ask about room measurements. I can spend hours telling you about Independence Village of Raleigh but just know it's a great place to live.

Pleasant community with great managers
This is the oldest senior living community I explored, but the sturdy building practices of the past are what make it quieter than most. We cannot hear our neighbor's activities or convesations at all...and that ensures a nice degree of peace and privacy! The basics are good food, comfortable floor plans, and good maintenance. Living at Independence Villages of Raleigh provides an opportunity for more than the basics

Independence Village of Olde Raleigh review
They're mostly good. The two issues we've had are: 1. When my mom asks for changes, people tell her they need to check with me because they think I'm paying, but then I never actually hear about it. It seems like an avoidance tactic. 2. Cleaning staff has been all over the place. Some people push their way in to clean on a schedule that works for them. Others come at odd hours and then say they couldn't clean that week because mom was asleep the one time they showed up.

A Place for Mom has scored Independence Village of Olde Raleigh 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies.
