Capital Oaks Retirement Resort review
They seem to have a high staff turnover, especially in the kitchen. But everyone is very friendly and there are lots of activities. I think the biggest remark would be that the staff who work there are lovely and the food can sometimes be inconsistent due to high turnover which is a common occurred in this industry. Everyone is trying their best.

Capital Oaks is A1!
Capital Oaks is a beautiful facility. When you first walk in, you see the beautiful lobby. There’s a water fountain in the center with fish. The floors above have an open area and railings so you can look down or all the way up to the skylight. Past the water fountain is the dining room. They have cafeteria style serving. But they also have servers to carry the tray for those in need. The food is delicious!
My sister moved here from Minneapolis after having health issues. It was a wonderful way for her to make friends. She stays very active with the daily exercise classes, book club, afternoon and evening movies and Walking group. After looking at four other facilities, Capital Oaks definitely outshines all of them!

A Great Place to Live
I really like the travel plan they have here at Capital Oaks Retirement Resort, it is the best reason for being here and based on my experience so far I would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones

Wonderful Travel Program
We are all happy the way the staff relates to us. Please come visit. I think you'll be very impressed and happy with what you find sunny, bright, smiling place. It is one of the most welcoming communities. They are very invloved. I would recommend to others. They have a travel program that is fabulous, in which you can stay at any resort lifestyle community for 5 days.

I toured this community and it was very nice, top notch. The suites are a bit away from the common areas and would have required my loved one to do a lot of walking to get to them. Not ideal for us. The dining is buffet style versus restaurant style like a lot of other facilities are. A better fit for more active residents who don't have trouble getting around.

A Very Nice Place
It is an excellent place, if your loved one can afford it. This would be an excellent choice. The friendliness, protection, the food is excellent, and the residents are well taken care of and these stand out to me.
There are lots of choices for meals for the three meals a day, plus there is a 24 hour station the resident can choose to access.
The activities are very nice. There are outings, games, bingo, happy hour and more for activities for the residents to choose from.

Our Tour Experience
We toured Capital Oaks, and it felt very stiff. It did not feel like a warm place. I certainly not pleased with the units that they showed us. And I was not really pleased with the dining setup. It was cafeteria-style dining. They do have sit-down, but I don’t think they’re encouraging that. And for people with walkers and disabilities, that just doesn’t work.

My Review of Capital Oaks
The front entrance needs attention, flower container, and seating. The baric on seating is indoor fabric needs replacing with out door fabric, benches need staining or replaced. This entrance is far from pleasant to first time visitors view. Please fix, otherwise everything is Great!!

Mother Lives at Capital Oaks
My mom loves living at Capital Oaks! Staff is wonderful. The food service is great. They have alternate options if she doesn't like what is on the menu. The Bus Shuttle service has really helped my mom since she gave away her car last year. I highly recommend Capital Oaks!

BAIT AND SWITCH
Family members residing at Capital Oaks. Amenities were at time of contract Shuttle free for appts and shopping excursions, 5 days a week. If unavailable Uber available at cost to Capital Oaks. Shuttle now very limited for appts; not 5 days a week. Uber cost now on occupant not Capital Oaks. A professional chef supposed to provide meals. Line cooks cooking. Meals are very small in quantity and disgusting. Leftover food rebranded into a “new” meal several times a week. This is not the food described in their brochure or menus from a professional chef. 3 options available for dining service to include delivered to room on china with silverware in uniformed server. (Notice brochure online). Meals delivered in styrofoam and even contained flies in meals. Dish TV service is out with every cloud that passes overhead. Prices raised $500/mo this past year, yet services have diminished or remained the same. Understand a new Capital Oaks in area just opening. Buyer be ware!

The food is not very good, the food is a disappointment. Communication is good and they kept us well informed and up to date. The community is clean and neat. I would recommend this community to others.

This is where mom lives now. We are looking as she appears to be drifting towards a need for a higher level of continuing care. CO is a great facility, much more reasonable than Walton Woods, even with the add on's we currently have and for a much better accommodation (2 BR vs 1 BR at Walton Wood), though mom doesn't need a 2 BR and we are trying to get her into a 1 BR. We need to have someone constantly encouraging mom to get out and do things. CO is independent living, not assisted living, and while we can add services from outfits like Right at Home, they aren't wiling to be firmer with mom. 2BR runs about $4.5K/month.

The Best Independent Living Retirement Facility in Raleigh
This is one of the best places to be for your final years, so long as you can live semi-independently. Great facilities, wonderful room options very good dining facilities and meals, lots of activities, etc. etc.
We looked at a lot of places in Raleigh, and this one is the best in our opinion.

Excellent choice
My 95 yr old father has resided at Capital Oaks since May, 2016. We have been very pleased with facility. We have years of experience with assisted living for my husband's mother. My father moved to Capital oaks from another facility. This is the best place we have seen. Food is excellent, healthy and available by served buffet or free snack bar. If you want desire a different meal, whatever you want, kitchen will prepare for you. If resident unable to go to dining hall, then meal will be delivered to room. Housekeepers use hospital grade equipment & cleansers for each room & do not use "rags" from one room to the next. Staff & residents very friendly. If a resident needs add'l care, then this is available thru Right at Home an inhouse nursing service. Add'l hourly fee that can be broken into 15 mins increments. Ideal if you have parent who may have cold & you want nurse to check on resident's well being. This is a lot less than assisted living prices. Yes, there are staff changes but we have always been pleased with standards in all areas.

What a beautiful facility. Everyone was so friendly from the minute I walked in the door. The amenities were amazing. I am not sure my mother needs so much but it is nice to have these options.
