The staff at this establishment is exceptionally professional and helpful. They are genuinely attentive to people's needs, displaying a remarkable level of caring, kindness, and compassion. My experience was unexpectedly enlightening, and I witnessed a level of empathy that was truly eye-opening. Some great staff, but lots of turnover of staff.
There are some amazing people working there BUT the staff turnover is quick. I really feel the staff is great but maybe not the company they work for. Things can change quickly. My mom didn't like it. There's not enough outdoor time/activities outside of the facility. Especially during COVID, which is understandable.

You will be happy to know that we are currently restructuring our care services to improve staff availability and responsiveness. We also have an excellent Activities Director who is creating many new and exciting activities and events for residents. We are all glad to have moved beyond COVID as it was especially difficult for residents.

We toured with The Village at Hayes Valley and it was the most expensive one and the worst out of the ones that we saw.
They had no parking, all shared bathrooms in the hallway, smelled awful - just gross.

Touring senior living communities helps future residents and their families determine if a particular location will work for them. While your review indicates some features that you did not like, other people may not entirely agree with you. For instance, our community is located in downtown San Francisco in a neighborhood close to the Civic Center, where private parking is hard to find and on-street parking is challenging at the best of times. Our building was not designed for resident parking. Having said that, many families and residents understand that and use public or ridesharing transportation to our location. We have the shared hall bathrooms for safety reasons, as many of our residents require assistance in the restroom and they are less likely to fall if the restroom is more accessible by staff, such as a shared one in the hall. Our restrooms, of which we have many, are safe, clean, and accessible to all who need them. Our staff works hard to keep the place odor-free and sanitized at all times. We hope that you found the right senior living accommodation for your loved one.

Good place. Communication could be better.
It's clean. It's safe, which is important with memory care. One thing they lack is communication. You call the front desk and their voicemail is always full. But overall we had a smooth respite stay, including the move-in and move-out process.

I won't recommend The Village to anyone.
The best part of this facility is the staff help. They work hard to make up for the low ratio of staff to the larger number of residents. The business office cares about one thing only - the check. One member in particular is unprofessional, classless, cold, and indifferent. Office management gets a 1 out of 5 for friendliness. The daily staff I would rate a 4.

Peace of Mind at The Village at Hayes Valley
My husband has been a resident of The Village at Hayes Valley, San Francisco, Ca., for one year. After unfortunate incidents at two previous memory care facilities, I have found the very best place I could ever have asked for at The Village. The staff is incredible - I feel like they are part of our family; the food is nutritious, beautifully prepared and served; and the facility is bright, cheery, and absolutely pristine. I have found my husband's forever home, and I finally have peace of mind.

Could not ask for a better "home" for my husband!
After unfortunate experiences at two other memory care facilities, I am so happy to say that now my husband has been a resident of The Village for almost a year. The most important thing to me is that now I have peace of mind. The caregivers and the entire staff - including food preparation , activities director, housekeeping personnel, etc.,could not be better or more caring. I feel like everyone at The Village is part of my extended family. The Village is immaculate, the food is so tasty and beautifully and carefully presented, the activities provided are geared to the residents' abilities, and the caregivers are dedicated and act as though each resident is their personal friend. I am so thankful for the day that I was introduced to The Village!
