nice community, clean and secure
The communication between staff has not been very good. We've called a few times to let staff know we were coming to get our loved one for dinner and yet they have taken our loved one down to dinner not knowing we had called. Staff is usually just sitting at nurse station without interacting or taking time to help those just standing around.

nice community, clean and secure
The communication between staff has not been very good. My mom was previously a resident at Pine Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and it was a great facility and a great experience for her. The staff and care services were great. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. My mom didn't really participate in the activities. I would recommend Pine Ridge to others.

Absolutely Recommended
The staff at Pine Ridge are kind and friendly. They made us feel at ease from the very first visit. It was an extremely easy move in process and my mom's room has been clean and well kept. My mom enjoys the food too, which is impressive since she used to be pretty picky. I would absolutely recommend Pine Ridge for loved ones with dementia.

Found the best place for my mom
My mom is currently a resident at Pine Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Honestly, the friendliness of the staff is what made me feel comfortable putting my mom into their care. I also like that they have community activities for the residents. My mom is doing extremely well because of them. I would absolutely recommend Pine Ridge for loved ones that need Memory Care.

Specialty Care for Those With Dementia.
It fit the specialized needs of my mother. They do very well with dementia care. It's a good place for those with dementia care needs.I would recommend it.

Wonderful staff!
My mother is currently a resident at Pine Ridge Alzheimer's Special Care Center and everything here has been great! The staff are wonderful. They are good to the residents. They are also good at keeping me well informed about my mother. They do pretty well with the menu, they have to cook for the masses.

I want everyone to know that this place has bedbugs they hired people an took them through orientation and said there was a door that had been closed that doesn’t need to be opened at all until said self because they had had bedbugs a week before I was working there for four days, and they had been closing down more rooms because of the problem which they are only heating them and he does not kill all of them. Bedbugs lay eggs and they still will be contagious if all of the residents are not evacuated and the whole building treated I want residence of families to know that this is not OK I got told from another employee that they had them back in December 3 months ago and are still having problems with them. They have the residence running around all the time in and out other residencies homes they say that they keep all the doors locked to prevent that, but never change their clothes or swap them in the morning and put them straight in the dryer to put heat on them to kill the bugs

Caring for your loved one
The caregivers are great. They are always willing to help. My loved one seems to like the food. They have a new activites director. I am not too happy about the increase in the prices. We picked this community because, they specialized in Alzheimer's /Dementia. The communication could be greatly improved, with administration. Overall, I would tell other families to do their research.

Very long time care for my mom, our family highly recommends Pineridge.
My mom was at Pineridge for 7 years. She was their longest resident until she passed away two years ago. We have a large family and pretty much one of us was there visiting each day, usually around lunch time. We liked that they had two wings. When she first moved in she was in the wing for the more independent residents. There was activities all the time. Bingo, live music, socials, etc. As her disease progressed she moved into the other wing for more care. Incontinence, help eating and food designed more for her condition (puree, finger food, etc.). The facility was clean and in the 7 years they always seemed to be upgrading and remodeling/painting. The majority of the staff were very friendly. They didn't seem to have a high turnover in staff and they seemed to genuinely care about the people in their care. My mother had excellent care. 7 years is long enough to know how this place was ran.

Poor care at Pine Ridge
My mom was a resident at Pine Ridge for just under 4 months. While her condition declined rapidly during that time it is my belief that lack of attention and poor staffing contributed to the speed of her decline. One of the reasons we chose Pine Ridge for my mother initially was because she had been falling at home. They boasted a motion detector in every room. Within the first 15 days of her stay she fell twice, one of the falls resulted in a shoulder fracture. My mom was continent for the better part of her stay there, she even asked for and used the commode on the day she died. Despite that her caregivers insisted she wear diapers and refused to take her to the bathroom when she asked to be helped. My mom was not very mobile during her stay and eventually ended up slumped over in a wheelchair or sleeping in a recliner in the “safety room” where multiple residents were placed during the day requiring less staff to care for them. I repeatedly ask that she be allowed to lay in bed when she was sleeping, my requests were ignored. While there my mom developed a large pressure sore on her spine that was never reported to the family. She developed open sores on both of her feet that eventually led to larger wounds and necrotic tissue. She had very little if any oral care, her glasses were frequently missing, her hearing aids were often not in her ears at all and if they were they were improperly placed or not charged, she wore the same clothes for up to 4 days At a time and she often had food caked on her clothing and face. She had had a drastic change in her condition on the day she died that I only discovered when I went to visit her, I found her in severe respiratory distress, she passed away 3 hours after I had gotten there to see her. The entire experience at
Pine Ridge was stressful, unpleasant and eye opening. My mom received poor care, they were short staffed, communication and follow up with family was lacking. Because of my experience with my mom at Pine Ridge I would not recommend it to anyone.

Great facility and staff
My mom was at Pine Ridge just over a year and i couldn’t have asked for better facility to have her in. The staff were always looking out for my mom plus all the other tenants. There were always things for her to do to keep her busy and engaged. The facility was always clean, i don’t remember a time of any smells as some of the other facilities we looked at. The food was fantastic we ate with her many times and never had a bad meal. The staff was always friendly to my wife and I as well as my kids. I know mom would get a little unruly at times and the staff always handled her with care and dignity. She had her nails and hair done at Pine Ridge which is a really convenient and reasonably priced. They showered her very regularly and
cleaned her clothes which is a great service. In my moms last days the staff went above and beyond to tend to moms needs as well as the whole families needs. The price they charge monthly was lower than a lot of facilities in the Spokane area . As far as our family is concerned this is by far the best facility and staff in the Spokane area for anyone who needs this type of care. I highly recommend

Pine Ridge - No Thanks
The building was nice, now it smells, carpet is dirty. One housekeeper doesn't have to do any work because she is a friend of the VP of the company.The laundry person is the laziest of the whole bunch, but if the manager tries to get them to actually work, then they claim it is a hostile work environment. What a bunch of BS! Nurses and caregivers spend most of their day outside smoking while the residents lay in their wet beds.

Active Group, Clean, Beautiful place.
Caregivers really are kind and caring. Director, Activities, Marketing are friendly enough. Beautiful place, with very nice decor. Has been lacking cleanliness that last couple months. Our loved one has been there about 7 months and since then there has been a change of Director. The poor Nurses and caregivers are so overworked in all of these facilities. It must be at near crisis point trying to find staff. The caregivers are woefully underpaid - undervalued. That's thanks to the Corporations and their Board of Directors greed more than anything. Back to the facility - they offer a good array of activities and are good about getting the residents to join in. The group here is more active than many we saw at other secure Alzheimer's care facilities. This suits our very active loved one well. Key word being 'secure'. Many in need of the secure places are not as active. It was important to us to have other residents in a similar condition. Our loved one enjoys the food and even the cooks are very friendly.

Pineridge Experience
My dear husband of 63+ years was in this facility for
almost a month. Our main concern was his personal
hygiene which we realized was complicated due to his having a urostomy. Upon admittance, the staff assured me this could be properly administered to. Almost every day that he was in residence, there was an accident.
His clothing was not properly attended to and his room
unpleasantly odorous. Also, the heat in his room was
very difficult to adjust. There were many good things,
a lovely facility, great activities and good food. My thoughts are, they assumed he was more capable of
caring for himself, which he could do with supervision.
After several meetings with staff, we opted to remove
him from this facility. I truly believe they were short-
staffed.
