There are MANY very positive aspects at Lighthouse. The facility is always clean, the care was very good and the meals delicious. The facility layout is circular and allows the residents to walk around freely and not get lost down a dead-end hallway. If Lighthouse falls short it is with adding charges without notice and lack of detailed information to support or explain various charges. A 30 day notice of a change in fees is required and seldom given. \nMy biggest regret, when the time came to medicate my Mom for “anxiety” I didn’t insist on starting with LOW doses and increasing slowly. The standard seems to be to start with high doses and then “dial it back”. I lost precious time with Mom because she was too out of it. I wish I would have not allowed so many drugs. \nBottom-line, no place is perfect. My Mom was never aware of challenges I had with management, medication & billing.
