I toured this community and it wasn't the best fit for my loved one. She didn't care for it and said that right from the start.

Definitely Recommend
All in all, we're very pleased with Lifestyle Transitions at Wesley Heights. It's an incredible place. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire staff and the entire process. They made it very comfortable and easy. I understand how difficult my family member's condition can be, and I think they're doing a great job with her.

A Great Place for an Older or Aging Person
It's very easy to talk to any of the staff. It was very easy moving my loved one in. Anything that we needed, they were right there. The transition for her seemed pretty seamless as far as getting her acclimated to everything. She loves the food. They have a menu that she gets to pick from, so she's not limited to just one thing at each meal. She also loves the activities. They bring in a lot of entertainment (piano players and singers), have a lot of arts and crafts projects, and Bingo. And they take them out for mystery rides and out to lunch.

Our Tour Experience
We thought Lifestyle Transitions was very nice. It was one of our top two choices after touring at several places. We left the choice up to our mother, and she chose the other place, I suspect because it was less expensive than Lifestyle Transitions.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Connecticut’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Connecticut’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Lifestyle Transitions at Wesley Heights 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
