worst care ever
The best thing about the community was the therapy group. The community did not take care of basic care needs. the communication would have not existed If I didn't initiate it. I would not recommend this community to others.

A Place to Avoid
I would steer clear of this community. It was a pit, it was dirty, no consistency with the help. The help didn't speak English as a primary language. The room had to be shared and it wasn't adequate for two people.

Great Place to Live
I have lived here full-time for 4 months and love it here. I love the activity department and all of the new people I have met. The CNA's are amazing here, they do such a good job at taking care of me. My family can come visit me whenever they would like to which makes the transition much easier for me.

Great Place to Live
I am currently a long-term resident here and live here full-time. This is the greatest place ever, I absolutely love living here. No other place can beat it. They have a variety of activities, my favorites are arts & crafts and bingo which they offer multiple times a week. The staff is outrageous and so good, they do an amazing job. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Sitting on your Laurels
Two of my loved ones stayed at the Laurels of Willow Creek. Only one of them came home. The physical therapy department staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding. The front office personnel were great too. However, the skilled nursing dept. is short handed and unskilled. There simply aren't enough people on duty to attend to everyone's needs as advertised on the website, and whomever they do choose to employ should be familiar with treating the patients as equals, and not like they are disposable. The social service worker did make me aware of the fact that they frown on calling the hospital, conveniently located only two miles away as advertised, but I had no idea that they used this as a principle when a patient is having a life threatening emergency. Sitting on your Laurels is an understatement. I do believe that the folks are going to start noticing how many body bags they roll out of door. The loved one that did make it home was discharged without the prescriptions necessary to sustain life. Calls to the nursing home futile, and they had to be located from the prior hospital stay. If you love your loved one, don't send them to the Laurels of Willow Creek unless you plan on staying there with them. Keep them at home on your couch!

Choose a different SNF if you’re dependent on others for basic care
This review is about the skilled nursing short- term stay (SNF) at Willow Creek. PROS: There are some genuinely kind, caring, friendly staff. The activities staff is great, and the activities room is staffed and available on the weekends. Rehab is fine. CONS: Neglect of basic care needs: brushing teeth, shaving, toileting. Unaccepable care for incontinent patients and patients who cannot walk, transfer independently, or verbalize their needs. Poor wound management (though they advertise on website “wound healing and wound prevention program”). Apathetic or no response to these concerns by the Administrator and nursing director. My father was there for 5 weeks with a simple wound on his butt, but it didn’t heal because they regularly left him in urine-soaked diapers/pants with an uncovered wound, despite discussions with nursing staff about putting him on a schedule to keep him clean and dry. I was there almost daily and often cleaned/changed him and dressed the wound myself because no one was available to do it. Call bells not answered in timely manner or not at all. My father was given a moldy mattress. Then a worn out mattress with a huge dip in the middle. Questionable cleaning/disinfection procedures: a previous patient’s supplies stayed in the room for over a week despite my telling staff. Understaffed; lack of training of direct care staff in incontinence and wound prevention and management. You have a choice of SNF/nursing home for your loved one. Don’t make my mistake. Go elsewhere. (After a week back home at assisted living, my father’s would is almost healed because they have been keeping him clean and dry. A home health wound nurse is following him. The facility has been reported.)

Appreciative
My father has had several stays at The Laurels of Willow Creek. Each stay has fulfilled his needs both medically and physically. I am extremely grateful for the care that he received while being a resident at this facility. The therapy dept. is very attentive and made it possible for him to return home. Words alone cannot express my gratitude for the caring nursing team that made a difference in his everyday well being. Thank you!

Good therapy, could improve roommate matching
My mother was here for rehab, it also has assisted living, it's half and half. Overall, the physical therapy portion was excellent and she was really making progress. The cleanliness was fairly good but they could do a better job at putting the roommates together. The first person she had had severe dementia and you can't really put a dementia patient with a person that has their full faculties. Eventually they did move her out after 3 weeks but that was the biggest thing I think, they don't seem to take the roommates into consideration, they just put peopel wherever there's an empty bed.
