The place is dated and needs some repairs but the staff makes up for all that. They could use better communication. We tell staff things but they don't seem to have a way to share that information amongst themselves - where extra pull-ups are stored, that we are picking her up for an appointment, that we do the laundry, etc. She is in memory care now and needs to be but isn't stimulated enough. The apartment is great, the planned activities are wonderful, dining experience is very good. However, communication and planning for doctor's and nurses' visits, and getting results from bloodwork is really poor. My father has been told that a doctor and/or nurse will come on a Friday or a Monday, and no one shows up. This has happened several times. Also, his prescription refills are ordered and supposedly processed the same day, but it has taken more than a week to get his hands on the prescription. The explanation provided is that they \"were put in the wrong place.\" He has had the same experience trying to get results from bloodwork. Under difficult conditions, they handled Covid outbreaks well. \n\nThe only recommendation for improvement would be the accessibility to an onsite PCP. The last couple of months were difficult as the PCP moved on and they needed to fill that position with a permanent physician. We realize that there is a physician shortage at all medical facilities at this time. Langdon Place did the best they could, under the circumstances. \nDad spent the last 11 months of his life at Langdon Place. In his final weeks, he was under Hospice care, and it was a smooth transition with their staff. \n\nOur family was grateful for the good, compassionate care that Dad received at Langdon Place. Self propel wheelchairs only and resident must resident on first floor. We have two elevators with three floors, but once monthly we are mandated to have a fire drill where residents will come DOWN the stairs and never have to climb up them.<br> <br>We are also offering a life-time rate lock on the base rate of the apartment in our assisted living but the levels of care may adjust over time. The rate lock does not apply if a resident transitions to our memory unit where care and suite are all inclusive pricing. <br> <br>At Langdon Place of Dover, we offer three tiers of living including residential living (equivalent of independent living), assisted living and memory care plus a full service skilled nursing center/rehab. Many residents start out in our residential living then can add services as care needs change and health issues arise. You can change levels of care in assisted living as you age in place or go from residential living to assisted living, but you don’t need to change apartments. There are no buy-ins or large up-front fees here. You simply rent your apartment for a minimum of 60 days. After the 60 days, we require a 30 day move-out notice.<br> <br>Langdon Place of Dover has been serving the Dover community for 30 years. We are now taking care of the third generations of some families which speaks to the quality of care our residents receive! Many of our staff have been here 10-20+ years so we work together as a seamless team!
