what we like the most about independence village is the friendliness of the staff, and the support services that are available. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families, however, it depends on the level of care required. This isn't the place for 24 hour medical care

In the past few years, as my wife's Parkinsons disease worsened, it became essential that we find a very facility to enhance and improve her life.
As a retired CPA, she was accustomed to a active lifestyle encompassing many. After interviewing multiple facilities it become obvious that IVBV would become her new home, Infortunately as her health continues to decline she has heen unable to participate in many of the offered activities. Nevertheless, the entire staff Continues in their attempt to find ways to assist in her care,
The process of any organization is very dependent. on the strength of their management team. My. observation of the Executive Director, [name removed], and her team of directors, managers and playport staff. is a very positive. very problem. Supplement and always helpful no matter what the request. If an immediate solution isn't available For a problem, they will find a way to solve it. Their compassion for the well-being of the residents turns into friendships.In my opinion,
that helps define the definition of community and caregiving.

Great facility, Management, not so much!
The care staff seems excellent, management on the other hand is horrible! They are very rude and condescending. Housekeeping seems to do a really good job and go out of their way to help residents. The aides communicate with my daughter instead of me because they know her.
We moved her in on a Saturday and even though they knew we would be moving her in on that date, it felt like management had no idea what was going on. The meals appear to be good quality, she hasn't complained about the food. New management would be my recommendation. I'm glad we were able to find a home for my mother in law, but I wish the management wasn't leaving me sour on the place. I honestly don't know if I would recommend them or not.

A much easier transition than expected!
Staff is Great! Friendly, accommodating, as are most of the residents. Housekeeping is great and helpful and doing laundry of bedding and such is very helpful. I DO recommend this facility as a clean, safe, and comfortable home.

The Independence Village staff were very helpful and accommodating, and bent over backwards to help us. The CorsoCare team that handles the care giving for Independence Village seems to currently have an issue with keeping enough staff, but they still tried hard to accommodate my father's needs. While no one wants to place a family member in assisted living, this place was the best we found

Someone took my keys out of my walker. I told the desk. She remembered seeing a man with a lot of keys. She ran and found him and he did have mine. She went to a lot of trouble to help me.

I have been living here for 2.5 years and I have found it to be very nice in many ways. The staff is the best. The rooms are very nice. They have a bus for transportation and have many activities. They made my transition very easy.

The Life Enrichment crew does a great job to keep you busy and learning new things. The cleaning crew does a nice job keeping your room clean and the rest of the building. Maintenance will be there if you put a request at the front desk for something to be done by them. We have card games, bingo, and dinner outings. A bus to take you shopping and to doctors appointments. You make many good friends.
