Our Experience
I would recommend the facility because of the staff, the cleanliness and the homey quality. We loved being able to sit outside in the shaded garden. The food was pretty basic, but they tried to meet my mother's needs for easy to chew foods. The activities at the time we were using the facility was not enough. There may have been changes since. They had someone before we were there that was much better, had "manicure Mondays" and "gardening Tuesdays". I was able to spend a lot of time at the house and augmented this as much as I could.

All of our residents live in a home setting with all private rooms. Our houses are unique by offering a secure front door and backyard. With only 5 residents, your loved one will be part of a family. Caregivers were wonderful. Bookkeeping a nightmare.
The caregivers at Haven care fir house were wonderful. They cared for my dad like their own. But the bookkeeping part of the short time he was there was a nightmare. The double charged us the down payment. They sent us a link to pay online and then drafted our account also.they took a couple of weeks to refund us for that. The prorated amount for the first month was drafted more than what was on the contract. Our dad passed away on the [removed] of the month and we removed all his belongings by the [removed] and they took until the following month to give us a prorated refund and still shorted us [removed]. You couldn’t get a hold of anyone in accounting to discuss. I still haven’t received an invoice or receipt for the amount he paid. This is important for tax purposes. I think they are having financial problems and it shows. Too bad the care was worth the headache because they were there for my dad and kept him comfortable at the end.

However, I sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with our billing process. I understand how important it is for everything to run smoothly, especially during such a difficult time.
I would like to clarify a few points. Refunds are indeed subject to review, and occasionally incidental charges from third-party providers are invoiced up to 30 days later. Our accounting team needs time to reconcile these charges to ensure accuracy for families. Rest assured, we are not experiencing financial difficulties. In fact, Haven Care is approaching its 30th year as one of Albuquerque's largest residential memory care facilities.
Regarding the payment link, I’m uncertain what you’re referring to, as we do not use such a service. Additionally, after reviewing the prorated charges, it appears the move-in date was earlier than expected. If we failed to clearly communicate this to you, I take full responsibility for that oversight.
We are more than happy to assist in resolving any outstanding concerns, including providing any necessary invoices or receipts. Warm, clean, home like environment. Staff was very kind. I was always welcome. Pretty garden area. Good location. Very simple food menu, but residents seemed happy with it. Responsive to my queries and suggestions. They were very kind throughout my family's time there.
