Staff and residents almost run together in terms of presenting a family-like atmosphere. When my loved one came to Brookdale, a new Director of Nursing had just come on board. The nursing care improved significantly after she got established. Staffing was always a bit short. The cleanliness in public areas was quite good. There was an underlying odor of urine in the halls, but I think that's unavoidable with a bunch of residents struggling with incontinence. My loved one loved the meals. His diet had been miserable and he was delighted to have three meals a day put in front of him. He participated in more activities than I expected and made friends with most of the residents. The move-in process was good. We took advantage of the respite care program, which allowed him to move into a furnished room as soon as he got out of rehab and before we could arrange to have his furniture moved from his home. He LOVED his one bedroom apartment. I would recommend Brookdale Jones Farm to others. For our family, the location was ideal. The relatively large size of the facility provided lots of opportunities for making friends.
