Great senior living community with flexibility for the care needs
Staff and facility is good. Ongoing communication from staff hasn't been great, but my mom is in Independent Living. The food hasn't been great... bland and the meats always with coatings. I do recommend this facility.

Our experience with Arbor Ridge so far
Communication with families is poor. There was a recent outbreak of Covid that we only heard about from my loved one. Once we asked, there was little info shared. As my loved one was one who was positive with Covid, we had to ask the RN staff to please check on her and we ended up taking her to the ER as she became dehydrated. I'm not sure if I could recommend them as I don't know how they compare to other similar priced facilities.

Needs improvements
Food is an issue as far as they run out, and it takes too long to be served. No internet even though they say it's provided. You can only access it in the common areas.
Shared laundry room had a dryer that was full of lint and does not dry the clothes, not to mention its a fire hazard. My niece had to clean out the lint and got a bag full. These should be maintained weekly at the least.

Excellent Care for My Mom
We picked this community, because of the location close to Sun City where my Mothers friends are, cost was reasonable, size of rooms, excellent staff & office members, and many other reasons. They have gone over and beyond anything my Mother or myself have ever requested from them. They are an excellent organization!! Excellent staff, excellent workers, makes me comfortable having my Mother there and knowing the care she gets!!

I toured this community and it's nice. It's more updated than the other two buildings of the facility. Kept clean and staff is friendly. The only downfall is that the restrooms are very small and no walk in showers.

Contacted the facility. The move in coordinator was very helpful. A tour was arranged. They provided a temporary apartment on short notice. The apartment was painted and made ready on time. Staff are very approachable and kind. Facility was flexible with move in.

We were blown away
The staff members and their care services are top notch, everyone has greeted us so kindly and welcomed us with open arms. The meals that our loved one likes because she is a very picky eater are ridiculously good, but all the meals are great. The activities are still restricted because everyone is not vaccinated yet, but the dining room is back open. The grounds, architecture, the apartments just sold us immediately on a different level. We instantly choice and committed to this community.

Not The Best Value and Care for Your Money
I would tell people this community has a lot of turnover. They don't respond quickly to the resident's call buttons.
The resident's rooms aren't cleaned like they should be.
Before COVID the food was good when dining in the dining room. After COVID the food was delivered to the resident's rooms with little options. The dinner is served at 4 pm. There is no other option for the residents to eat. Lunch was finished at 1 pm. The meal times weren't spaced out correctly.

A smaller facility but very nice. Relatively clean and has suites with a layout perfect for my Dad. The floor plan meanders with lots of windows and garden areas. They do accept Medicaide patients. Probably the most affordable facility we toured so far.

Thrilled with the Amethyst Arbor!
We are so grateful that we chose the Amethyst Arbor as my mom's new home. [Name removed] provided multiple tours to assure that our family members were all comfortable and all of our questions were answered. He was very kind and patient. Everyone involved with my mom's move in were wonderful. Unfortunately, my dad was hospitalized and diagnosed with metastatic cancer on the scheduled move in day. He died 2 1/2 wks later. All of the staff was very compassionate and attentive to my mom while my dad was dying and after. Our whole family got to spend time at the Amethyst and were all so impressed with how lovely our mom's apartment is and how beautiful the common areas are and how wonderful the staff is. Everything is bright and cheerful and homey! The grounds are so beautiful with flowering bushes and grass. The whole place is immaculate and never has bad odors. There are so many helpful services. It has been such a huge assistance and relief to our family. My mother is kept safe. The dining room is lovely and the meals are very good. The service is excellent. The residents seem happy and well cared for. I hear all of the staff calling the residents by their names. My mother receives continuous competent and loving care. She feels very safe and we have confidence in the very efficient staff. Everybody is so helpful and loving. I am a nurse and have very high standards. I am totally impressed with everything! Every medical professional I have spoken to who knows the Amethyst has nothing but positive feedback. Most of all, my mom is happy with her new home!
