Great Place
My Uncle has no family in the area and I live in Canada, so it's great to know that he is well taken care of at Vista del Lago. Wonderful caring staff and fun activities. Being kept informed with pictures and videos is great, especially in these hard times. They are quick to ensure that everyone follows the strict protocols so that residents and staff are safe against the COVID19 virus. Best of all, keeping family members constantly updated even if there is no change means so much when we can't be there for them.
Just hope things will improve soon, so I may finally have a chance to return to visit.

Vista del Lago is a memory care community located in a quiet residential community in the historic city of Escondido, California. The staff provides a nurturing, caring environment for all residents and encourages seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia to stay active. My sister has been at the Vista Del Lago for a few years now and I continue to be impressed with the quality of her care! I am relieved to know she is so well cared for. And I am so appreciative of the kindness of all the workers there, the respect afforded residents, the warmth of the care givers, the enthusiasm of staff and the reliable and regular communication provided to loved ones from not only the direct care providers but also from administrative staff and even the executive director. The workers at the Vista care deeply about the residents and it is obvious! I am so grateful to have found the Vista for my sister and believe it is a wonderful place for her to live.

Professional and Clean
Vista Del Lago is a wonderful facility to care for your loved one. I was unexpectedly in charge of my Aunt's care after she suffered a stroke then rapid memory loss.
We tried a few places before God led us to this place. Without a doubt, I would pick this place again. Caregivers are very professional. The facility is cleaned multiple times a day. It always looks and smells fresh.

Great Place for Mom
I wrote this for Nurses Day: Vista del Lago Nurses are the BEST!
My Mom, [name removed], has been at Vista del Lago for 9-months now. I visit two or three times a week and I tell everyone that I am so glad we chose Vista del Lago to care for mom. The care she gets there is wonderful. The nurses at Vista del Lago are fantastic!
They really do care; they get to know each resident and are very patient and understanding with them. Their constant interaction with mom is great. She can be difficult at times but the nurses keep a positive attitude and lend a helping hand when needed. They go out of their way to try to get mom involved in activities. All of the nurses ROCK! Thanks so much for all you do.
Vista del Lago has great administrators too. [name removed], the Executive Director is very personable and proactive. He has kept Vista del Lago as safe as can be during the Covid 19 pandemic. [name removed], the Marketing Director was our first contact there in August 2019. She not only helped us understand the facility, she also helps keep residents in contact with their family residents during this time of social distancing by sending out wonderful videos of the residents to share with their families.
I highly recommend Vista del Lago to anyone with a loved one with memory problems that is looking for a well run, comforting place to live.

Vista Del Lago a truly wonderful place
My mom required a memory care facility in a very short amount of time. I called and interviewed at least sixty in San Diego.
This was the place for my mom. She loves it here. The staff are thoughtful and kind. The facility is clean and doesn’t smell. I didn’t see anyone unattended to. I love my mom and am thankful to have had the opportunity to make her a resident at Vista Del Lago.

Vista has done an amazing job keeping their residents safe. The facility is very clean and the staff very friendly. Even the executive director takes a personal interest in the residents. During these very difficult times with Covid-19 I’m sure it’s been very lonely for the residents there but vista does it’s best to keep them busy and less lonely.

Care, patience, understanding
It was such a difficult and depressing process for me to understand my eldest family member needed to be cared for in order that proper care could be administered. It’s still very difficult having this on my shoulders and worrying daily. However,
I know my family member gets the gentle guidance and care needed!
I can’t say enough about the staff and management.
I thank them ALL and OFTEN!
I have nothin but high praise for them all.
Especially during this Covid outbreak!

Excellent programs and resident support and care
We have had clients continuously living at Vista Del Lago for over 3 years.
The facility itself is attractive and well-organized. The staff members are well-trained and kind with the residents, supporting all of their needs.
The facility has been innovative about maintaining communications with residents families, care providers, and friends, since the very beginning of the "Pandemic Era", and they continue to maintain steady contact.
Additionally, they have worked hard to provide creative activities to maintain a high level of stimulation and support for their very special residents, as well as support for their residents' families.

Answered a prayer
Vista Del Lago always smelled nice. There was always staff available to clean and it never looked messy or cluttered at all. The staff was always kind and thoughtful. They took the time to listen to me and they were always willing to problem solve. They always showed a great level of compassion to our family. Vista Del Lago is expensive, however it was worth every penny. The staff was in general, very happy, which was surprising given the amount of work that they all put in to the care of the residents. It really gave me peace of mind to know that my loved one was being taken care of so well when I couldn't physically be there. The reason we chose this location was because my loved one was very social. We were very pleased to know that the whole building was available to him to walk through. We also liked that the other residents were at the same level of care as him, which we felt meant he was not being judged and this was a huge comfort to me.

Vista Del Lago - The right choice for my mom!
I am so amazed with how much Vista Del Lago takes care of my mom. My mom was in a bad situation which caused a decrease in her level of life quickly and Vista Del Lago came to the rescue. A therapist came to visit my mom in her home and noticed that she was not being taken care of and that she could not take care of herself. They expedited a doctor to visit her in her home and he saw the situation that was at hand and saw she needed care. When she became a resident of Vista Del Lago, she was put on a good diet, her pills were monitored well, and activities were used to help promote her wellbeing while she was in serious need of care. As I visit Vista Del Lago, I have found that the nursing are well attentive to mom’s needs. When she is not doing well, they find the answer quickly and take steps immediately to help her be herself. The administration staff is all attentive to mom’s needs and care, the activities staff are also focused on her wellbeing. There have been some changes from the beginning of moms care to now and incorporated teams named, Guardian Angel and Otter Crew. I love that they assign someone in charge in each area for mom’s wellbeing. I email staff and receive emails. It doesn’t stop there. I text and call for ANYTHING and there is a response. And much to my surprise, I receive texts and phone calls when I don’t even check in. They are there for every aspect of moms needs and I so appreciate what Vista Del Lago has done to transform my mom back to who she is and make sure she is happy. There is also a protection aspect that is phenomenal for the care of mom. Who does that? Vista Del Lago does! Thank you Vista Del Lago for saving my mom’s life and enhancing her stay with you the best she could ever have.

We made the right choice, moving to Vista del Lago
My husband lived here for 2 months last year, before passing away from Alzheimer's. I was so glad that I had chosen this facility, as the staff were amazing. Their kindness and patience, especially with his agitation and unpredictable behavior, went above and beyond my expectations. When it came time for Hospice care, I really appreciated their referral. I would recommend Vista del Lago to anyone seeking dementia care for their loved one!

Thank you for your praise of the staff and facility. I am sorry to hear that you felt your loved one would not fit in our environment. I remember you mentioning you expected people to be ambulatory and not to see residents in wheelchairs. Even though some of our residents are in wheelchairs, we have quite a few residents that have mild cognitive impairment and who can hold conversations with your loved one. We serve residents with mild dementia all the way through advanced dementia. We hope you will consider us in the future.

Enjoyable Environment!!
I have no complaints of how things are going for my loved one since she made the move into this community. The staff are wonderful to work with and I am comfortable with the quality of care they have been providing my mother. They have a great activity program available if she ever feels up to it. I also am impressed with the dinning experience and all of the great meals they provide.

This is a nice fit for my husband
I have been pleased with the care my husband is getting at Vista del Lago because they are very well set-up well for alzhiemers/dementia care. I also used them for daycare before he moved here permanently. He has had some trouble with his transition as he is the type that does not like to interact but the staff is working with him and they are also encouraging him to take part in a few of the activities at a time. My husband does enjoy going to the bistro from time to time for his meals and he likes eating in his room as well. We have had some trouble with his clothes and sheets always missing when they go to the laundry which I do have to stay on top of that.
My husband is now on hospice and Vista del Lago did help with those arrangements.
I would recommend Vista del Lago both for long term and day care for anyone looking for their loved ones

The right care!
My mother is receiving the care that she needs at the Vista Del Lago. I feel that communities are finally starting to get their act together and doing a good job. The staff at this community are kind and caring, we are very happy with our choice.
