Mom had hospice so she was able to stay in her own room the whole time. Mom liked the meals, and she participated in several activities. Staff certainly check in with residents regularly and make sure all needs are met. I stop in the nursing office several times during visits and they are always responsive though don’t necessarily let me know the plans so I follow up for my own peace of mind. Overall, my mother is happy and well taken care of. I would say the only negative that I have is the doctor that they have. I felt made comments that were very unprofessional in my opinion. After just a few days of my mother, living at Tranquility, he pulled me aside to talk to me, and said that he would give my mother maybe two years before she passed away because most patients with dementia don't make it long and assisted-living. He then further went on to say that if my mother would get sick with a heart issue or cancer or something I should just let her die because dementia will kill her anyway.
