Not what we expected
Administrative staff lack of professionalism, doesn't have time to address issues, lack of bedside manner. Quality of care- does not keep to toileting schedule, bathing is lacking resident still dirty after shower. Sits in rooms and plays on phone instead of caring for loved ones. Activities are not centered toward people with Alzheimer's, activities Director does not take questions about activities kindly. She treats her staff poorly in front of families. Not worth the price.
It use to be a top not place not it's the bottom of the barrel at top notch price, actually very sad.

A few of us re-read your comments several times, and we all reached the same conclusion: there are a couple of things you say that led us to wonder if you left this review for the wrong community. Just one example: we don’t really have “people with Alzheimer’s” here at our assisted living community. Rather, we have relatively active, independent seniors who just need a little extra help with things. So we’re perplexed. Certainly, if you actually meant to leave this review for The Terrace at Glen Eddy in Niskayuna, we want to address your concerns and Jackie, our Terrace manager, would very much appreciate a call from you. Tour experience
We had a really nice tour experience with The Terrace at Glen Eddy. The facility was clean and we really loved everything that we saw. The staff were great with their follow up after the tours as well. Unfortunately they did not have availability for respite stay in the time range that we were looking for. We ended up going with another Terrace facility.

My husband and I are living at the Terrace at Glen Eddy as a result of personal injuries we both had. We are very lucky to be here because this is a very friendly atmosphere. The facility is very comfortable and all the workers here at all levels understand our needs and are very kind and helpful.

Puts my mind at ease
The staff members that we deal with directly are wonderful, but sometimes the management team is slow to respond. The value for cost is well worth it, our loved one has a very nice and spacious 2 bedroom apartment. The bedroom and closet is unbelievably big, she is enjoying having a separate living room and a nice kitchenette. This community is very accommodating to all residents, it feels more like a home. The means are good for the most part, and they have a ton of activities during the week. Over the weekend we do wish there was a little more, but we know a lot of times those are the days families come and take there loves ones out for the weekend.

Great quality of life for a loved one.
I continue to be pleased with the level of care and quality of life that my 91-year old mother has experienced at The Terrace for the last three years and the 15 years prior to that at Glen Eddy. There are many activities to keep residents physically and mentally engaged and all the residents I have seen are very friendly.
