The meals are very good. I even go frequently to visit my dad and have a meal with him. The place is very clean. They've recently remodeled. The executive director of The Ridge at Oregon City is trying to bring in more residents. Some residents have died and some have moved out because of health reasons. I've even gotten to know some of the residents there. The new activity director has many varieties of activities available as well as field trips

Berry Park welcomes seniors into a one-story independent senior living community with a homelike ambience. This warm community is located in the suburban area of Oregon City, Oregon, which is less than 20 miles southeast of Portland.
The community offers a wide range of living accommodations, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, as well as two-bedroom cottages. While living at Berry Park, residents have access to convenient services like regular cleaning and laundry. Additionally, front desk staff members are available around the clock to help seniors with concierge services. For seniors who have their own means of transportation, the community has on-site parking. Otherwise, the community offers complimentary transportation services to help seniors attend local medical appointments.
In addition to convenience, on-site amenities and recreational activities are also offered to residents. With options ranging from reading in the fully-stocked library to participating in daily classes led by a physical therapist in the wellness center, the community offers multiple stimulating pastimes and common areas. Friendly staff
The meals are very good. I even go frequently to visit my dad and have a meal with him. The place is very clean. They've recently remodeled. The location of The Ridge is a good one as it is close to public transportation, grocery shopping, banks and restaurants. Short distance to library, hospital clinics and Community College.

I definitely would recommend this facility to others. They just did a complete facility remodel - new roof, hvac, carpet, paint, furnishings, etc. Really looks spectacular. Staff is great. Really care about residents. Housekeeping also is convenient and nice. Family communications are as much or little as you need. They have an app that someone can sign up for that distributes all info that goes to resident, which is very helpful. Meals are okay, not spectacular but not bad. Maintenance would be the one area that needs improvement. Very long wait times for things to get fixed.

A new place to minister
My dad enjoys living at The Ridge at Oregon City. My dad has made some good friends. My dad has also been asked to lead a prayer group. The leadership calls upon him from time to time to lead a Bible study when the leader can't come. My dad is a retired pastor so he enjoys doing this

Overall pleased but maintenance needs improving
The front entry canopy is in bad disrepair/dry rot and paint. My friend has had troubles with getting issues fixed within his room such as faucet drips, needing a light switch replaced, and most recently he has a live wall plug that pulled out of the wall and is hanging from the live wires. The food is my loved ones biggest complaint, he purchases from the grocery stores and chooses to eat most meals in his room.

A great place to start the next chapter of your life
I am still very independent so where I live it is a little more separate. I participate in discussions and more when they have activities for the residents. There are a lot of options I just have not participated in everything just yet.

Poor management
Poor management which is reflected in the turnover of staff. The rooms are very empty right now. Also, a representation of poor management. Most of the staff are very kind and considerate and stay because of the residents. There is a reason Avamere at Berry Park is the cheapest independent living center in Oregon City.

They take my Father whale watching
The staff members here are very helpful, friendly, and personable. They actually try to get my Father involved in all of the activities. From what he has told me, the food is hit or miss and it seems to be more institutionalized. One thing that I like is that the food is included with his care. For activities, they offer trips to town, bingo, games, live entertainment, and they take them to go whale watching. Even though a lot of the residents are older than my dad, he seems happy here. I would recommend this community.

Definitely The Right Choice For Us
Mom is doing so well since moving here. She is playing bingo and making new friends and just enjoying herself. They are giving her plenty of food and she is enjoying it. They keep the grounds and the inside very well maintained and clean. The staff is very professional and nice very accommodating to your needs. I would recommend this community to anyone we are very pleased once we toured this community there was no need to go anywhere else.

Wonderful Community
This community is the Best Retirement Community in Oregon City. The building is newly renovated and the staff go over and above for everyone. Meals are scratch made and the activities keep you active. This community truly enhances your life.
