Review for The Piedmont at Buckhead
I'd say it used to be better (last year) and now the quality has decreased significantly. There's currently no director, they haven't found an appropriate suitor since the last one left in February and none of this was informed to the residents or their families. Rent and all of their services increase in less than transparent ways through for example a points system for those in assisted living. They rearranged the system so all residents in assisted would go up one level. The cleaning is less than acceptable. I've had to make note of this multiple times and it's still not good. The care staff is very friendly and probably the best thing about the Piedmont. We're only staying with this choice because of the location (it's by my house) and because the care staff is really good. If you had asked me last year, I'd say the Piedmont was great with the exception of transportation which would always have issues (forgetting to pick up residents etc). Now I'd say, it's ok but not for the price. If the quality keeps going down it'll definitely not be worth staying. They missed an exceptional director and it shows. I'd go wherever she went.

Would not recommend for assisted living if care is needed
They are not good for assisted living. I had to hire someone to be with him because they were so understaffed. The doctor care is outsourced, and not responsive. He had an issue that I ended up taking him to the emergency room for because they would not come. He passed away 6 days after moving in.

The Piedmont at Buckhead is a great fit!!!
The Piedmont at Buckhead is a great community to they have a very caring staff. They are getting a new chef. The activities are great. Thanks for your help. The Piedmont at Buckhead is a great fit!! It has compassionate staff, its décor (which makes the place seem royal) is nice , its location and its amenities has made it a place where our mom is happy. We toured many places and what matters the most is that we wanted a place where mom didn't feel isolated or lonely or in a place that felt depressing. Some places just feel depressing and sad. The Piedmont has a welcoming feel to it. We know mom will feel welcomed and safe. Taking care of the elderly takes a lot of compassion and patience and it's there. Thanks for your help and support in finding a place for mom!!!

Review for The Piedmont at Buckhead
The community is very friendly, on the older side (80's) rather than late 60's - early 70's like my father in law and overall accommodating. The director took the time to talk to me and address all of my questions (she made a great impression), the piedmont is a few blocks away from my house and it offered transportation every day for my father in law to go to his therapy sessions.

Best Years of My Life
The last seven years of my life have been the best. Being single,, having some health issues , and after working in the retail world in New York City for the last 20 years, I decided I wanted live with older adults in an independent living community and found “The Piedmont at Buckhead!” I am one of the youngest at 77 years old and have found many older folks sharing my values and their life experiences! It is truly a gift ! I play Scrabble weekly and participate in monthly tournaments! The weekly Bingo Games are a lot of fun. Eating dinner with different residents regularly provide a time of sharing newsworthy events and personal stories with the residents!. Transportation is provided 6 days a week for regular Dr. & Dentist appointments. Weekly housekeeping is a plus which gives me time to read my “New York Times, and other items of interest! I count my blessings every day and look forward to spending many more days at The Piedmont at Buckhead!

The Piedmont at Buckhead review
Although with them being short staffed, and they had made it very clear they didn't have enough people they were still very friendly. When it comes to the care services, our loved one had been there and was not seen by a doctor even though requested. I got a call three weeks later asking if he was still having any issues. In my opinion, the doctor first visits should be lined up quickly for a new resident. Maybe I'm incorrect.

It has been a pleasant experience so far, if one excludes the experiences during the pandemic. The best feature has been the socializing aspect among the community members. The worst experiences have been caused by management failures, among the worst being the continual turn over of people, gross management failures, particularly in the food and maintenance areas. Things seem to be improving, albeit very slowly, now.

The Piedmont at Buckhead
I have now lived at The Piedmont at Buckhead for 7 years. Lived in Manhattan (NYC) for 20 years and before before retiring in 2015, I visited 5 Independent Living Communities in metropolitan Atlanta. My standards and expectations were high and without exception, The Piedmont at Buckhead, topped the list. I have not been disappointed!

I would not recommend this facility for people who are aging and need more care
The director and the staff members were absolutely wonderful at the Piedmont at Buckhead. The place was more of a glorified apartment, it wasn't about the care since it was independent living. They had a beautiful dining room but the food was not very good. It is too expensive for the services that they offer. I would not recommend this facility for people who are aging and need more care.

They really do a great job keeping everyone comfortable and entertained here! It's almost like a self-contained city, they've got so much you'd almost never need to leave! They have all kinds of on-site amenities, and I like that they a lot of activities that appeal to the intellect of the group. It feels like it has a younger crowd overall, which works well for my loved one since she is only in her early 60s. The facility itself is beautiful, and always well kept and clean. I'd definitely recommend taking a look into this place!

A Pretty Place with No Heart
Just like all of the other reviews I have found that it is the most attractive community in Atlanta and you will be okay as long as you never have a problem or are mistreated. The executive director and some key staff tend to be defensive and will never offer what they can do better when they a mistake...some which are quite serious. I can't go into more detail because I fear retribution, which I have already seen there. If you lay low, do not complain when your loved one is treated poorly, and solve all of your own problems it will be okay. As one other reviewer mentioned, other than reserving the loading dock you are on your own to coordinate and oversee your move and connect your own dots as problems arise. On the plus side it is very attractive and new, the food is very good and there are many nice residents and activities. Just the ED and many of the staff need to go. If you talk to people there privately you will find these to be recurring themes.

Sally did not receive the information that the tour was scheduled, so no one was available to show me the facility when I arrived at 2pm. The reception desk was able to reach her, and she apologized for the confusion. She stated there can be a delay in her receiving her e-mails. I was able to look at the entrance lobby and dining area, which were very nice. I will try to return another time. At this point, I would rate the facility 3 stars-4 for physical facility I could observe, 2 for handling appointments.

It is a beautiful community - one of the most attractive senior living communities. The people who live there are wonderful and the location, food, and activities offer many options for residents. All of the window dressing is there but when you need help with the meaty [removed] coordinating a move or understanding why their (the facility's) response is not what it should be is when you see the problems. For coordinating a move they will reserve the loading dock but you are on your own to get everything else working - and it took weeks and many attempts with their staff. When other things go wrong the Executive Director tends to be defensive. There are others who have had the same experience. They never ask what they can do to make your assimilation experience better. If you can handle moving and coordinating everything on your own and have no problems with their service or reactions to issues - you will be okay. If you need them to help you beyond the minimum, you will be disappointed. They have process but not a lot of heart.
