The meals were an issue, and at the time mother left, they said they were changing vendors. The staff were friendly and helpful, there just weren't enough nurses. They kept saying they were trying to hire more nurses, but I did not see an appreciable difference in number. Calling nursing staff was difficult, and they frequently did not return calls. Housekeeping could have been better, but it wasn't bad enough to warrant a complaint. I do want to say that there was music, Bible classes, and things for the residents to do. The activity director kept in the best contact, and she was very helpful. She had monthly outings, which included residents and their families. The rooms do not appear to be cleaned daily, or if they are, not very thoroughly. The staff is very friendly, but they are so busy they do not have time for much other than completing their tasks. Having said this, they have great value because they took mother, and have kept her. They provide her with a safe, secure place to stay. She complains about EVERYTHING, including the food. I've only observed one or two meals, which seemed sufficient. Since mother is a complainer, it is hard to tell where the truth lies. I have observed the cleanliness of her room is only fair, but I'm a harsh taskmaster in that regard. They do have activities, and they do try to include families. It seems that much of the day is unstructured. Mother seems to sleep a great deal.
