She had to live here to get on the list for one of those rooms. Since she's been here they raised the rent on those rooms as much as she's paying now. I'm expecting a room rate increase anytime. But that was the main reason I put her here. It just didn't work out for cheaper rent. I'm just waiting and seeing what happens. Her insurance has ran out so it's all out of pocket now.","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"We made the right decision","reviewContent":"We moved my very reluctant dad into the Grove 2 months ago. We have no regrets.\nThe staff arranged for him to have a designated table from day 1 so he wouldn't have to figure out where to sit. Luckily enough, that group was welcoming and he looks forward to dining with them at every meal. \nAbout meals - the dining room has small tables that seat from 2 to 6 or 8. They are set with cloth napkins and glassware. The food is made to order. There is an auxiliary menu to order from if one doesn't want the main entree. Fresh fruit and snacks are always available in the common area. \nThere is a huge variety of activities, trips to the opera and fishing, candy bingo and a screened in porch.\nMeals, weekly laundry and light cleaning are included in the monthly fee. \nMy brother and I were very worried that Dad would be miserable with the move, but knew he needed to be with other people on a daily basis. \nDad is happier than he has been in years and his friends and family definitely notice!","reviewerDisplayName":"Pamela Alexander","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Review for The Grove at Midtown ","reviewContent":"We have especially enjoyed the staff. The price point is also appealing. I would recommend to others, and have done so already.","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"The Grove at Midtown Review","reviewContent":"Must keep on top of staff to get appropriate medications administered.\n\nNot wonderful service for daily upkeep of apartments.\n\nFood is so so.\n\nStaff is generally helpful, but I believe they must be overworked evidenced by some of the problems above.\n\nDespite some of these issues, I find that all employees have their hearts in the right place and do their absolute best.","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Great people","reviewContent":"All 5 stars for The Grove Midtown! I am so pleased with mom's caregivers. Great people, great place.\n","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Really pleasant environment for your loved one. ","reviewContent":"My loved one was only here a month or so. \n\nThe staff that I interacted with were very kind. I was at the facility more before my mother-in-law entered memory care. There twice after she was there. But very kind and accommodating staff as far as I could see. \n\nJust from the outside looking in, I wondered since my father-in-law had not been sitting with her if she would have been gently coaxed into trying some activities? I think staff left them alone so she wasn't active with other residents at all. She's not a big tv watcher so she just stayed in her room. Could my father-in-law have been invited to help her with the activities? She no longer has the same interests or ability to do things like she used to of course. So it seemed like she was bored. \n","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Wonderful caregivers ","reviewContent":"The staff members are very helpful with my mom even when she is demanding and or not as cooperative as she should be. \nAs far as the food goes, I think offering more grilled foods for the residents would be nice!","reviewerDisplayName":"Kathy","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Exceptional staff with supportive and comforting ethics ","reviewContent":"I rate all questions a rating of 5. That facility is excellent. The staff are exceptional and they were very supportive and comforting to me and to my husband at the end of his life. \n","reviewerDisplayName":"Debbie H","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Recommended","reviewContent":"I would recommend The Grove at Midtown. The staff are great and there are plenty of activities. It was easy to move in. We think mom has had excellent care. The staff take physical care but they are also loving and kind as if they are her kids, too. Sometimes she doesn't know they are not family because she is treated that way by the vast majority of of the staff. No one is perfect, but we are very pleased with the choice to put her there. Also I should comment about security. There are a lot of homeless people in that area of Tulsa, but the building and grounds are secure. I have never felt uncomfortable for myself or for her. ","reviewerDisplayName":"Catherine","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Recommended","reviewContent":"I would say that The Grove completely understands the process of memory care and all of the side effects and behaviors that come with this diagnosis. The staff are very helpful. They are knowledgeable and they do a good job of caring for the family member. The move-in process was seamless. The staff at The Grove was helpful and they made our transition easy and comfortable. The food at The Grove probably does need to get stepped up. When my mother was there five years ago, the food was better and that was before the facility was named The Grove. Back the,n the facility was named Brookdale. I would recommend The Grove to any family looking for memory care for their loved one. When the family member needs hospice, the personnel at The Grove are helpful in selecting a provider and the caregivers work well with hospice staff.","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"}],"parentOrgReview":{"name":"Compass Senior Living","slug":"compass-senior-living-1366505","averageReviewScoreDisplay":7.6,"communityCount":45,"reviewCount":698}},"communityName":"The Grove at Midtown","leadgenCompleted":false}
