Mom would have picked this place for herself. Hidden Gem.
If my mom had full memory functionality, she would have loved choosing this beautiful place for herself. After extensive review, we are incredibly grateful to have found [name removed] and Magnolia in Flower Mound. Safety, security, cleanliness, and personal attention were our top priorities. Director [name removed] went above and beyond, helping us every step of the way and continues to help us navigate challenges as mom changes phases in her journey. We appreciate the home-like feeling, perfect size facility, no unpleasant odors, and the looping corridor around the inner courtyard allow mom independence in safety. The interactive activities are wonderful. The entire staff share their smiles, friendships, and care to help mom find comfort and joy every day to the best of her current ability. Mom has been a resident for over 17 months now. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

My tour at The Crossings at Flower Mound was great - I thought it was a really nice place. It was just at a considerable distance away from where I live, but If I lived in that area, I probably would have chosen them.

Tour of The Crossings
There was nothing wrong with my tour of The Crossings at Flower Mound. The place had very few residents, there were only about 16 people at the time. They have recently taken new administration, even though the company has been in existence for quite a few years. The staff there were new and I didn't feel that they'd been there long enough to have established any longevity. Without longevity, I questioned if they would be able to demonstrate if it would work out for them there, and that the residents would experience consistency of care. With staffing being an issue in todays society, without having the ability to demonstrate how long people have worked there, is one red flag. The other red flag is them not having a lot of residents with reviews of how it is under new administration. The third red flag is that they're a little more than an hour away from me. One of the things I did like about it: I was introduced to some residents in the dining room while they were having lunch. The food seemed better here than the community we landed at. The residents were nice and articulate, they chatted with me; but the person I talked to didn't interact with the residents or speak of them with the same compassion, empathy, or passion that I found at the other community. At the other community, I met everyone; I was introduced to every person who worked there and I interacted with them. When I saw how the staff interacted with and treated the residents here, I knew that would also be my moms experience. I'm quite familiar with sales and I don't need you to "sell" me. I needed to feel how you are going to interact with my mom once she lives there. When I was there, lunch was ending and they were wheeling people into this TV room/area. The lady working there was asking for help and the person touring me just kind of ignored her. However, he was proud to tell me that the same lady was one of the singers in the Mama and Papas group. I asked her what was their next activity, but she didn't know. She showed me their calendar of events. The next activity wasn't going to be until 2:30pm, and it was 12:30pm. I asked her, "So this lady in the wheelchair is just going to sit here for two hours with nothing to do?" She didn't have an answer for me.

We are very happy with our loved one being here - we highly recommend
We hit a real home run with this community and we are so happy our loved one is here. Right when we met the staff on the tour we could tell they had a certain level of professionalism to them. They are highly trained when it comes to different levels of Alzheimer's and Dementia, they are very patient with the residents and understanding. We always see the cleaning lady working on the rooms and she does a very good job we are happy with it. They have painting classes that our loved one really enjoys, we always get pictures of her paintings and other things she is doing. They also bring in musician's to perform for the resident's. They just have outstanding levels of care, professionalism, and keep the community well maintained.

The crossings has been a Godsend. The sales person and staff welcomed me from the moment I called them and have walked side by side with me through the process of getting moved. No other facility showed interest with helping me through the process besides The Crossings. We had multiple contacts a day and still daily since she moved in, Incredible.

Loving Care
I moved my sister, [name removed], who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, to this facility 8 months ago. The staff and caregivers are amazing. They all treat my sister with love and care as they genuinely understand the intricacies of Alzheimer’s disease and how it affects our loved ones. I encourage anyone who is in need of a home for their loved one who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease to check out this home.

Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Texas’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

A Place for Mom has scored The Crossings at Flower Mound 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies.
