What a great Tour!
I had a wonderful experience meeting [name removed] and [name removed] . They are so kind and comforting. I also met the the nurse [name removed] . Overall I had such a positive experience meeting staff and other residents.
There were so many people out in the Bistro room. Looked very lively!

What a great Tour!
I had a wonderful experience meeting [name removed] and [name removed] . They are so kind and comforting. I also met the the nurse [name removed] . Overall I had such a positive experience meeting staff and other residents.
There were so many people out in the Bistro room. Looked very lively!

New Extended Family!
My moved in 3 weeks ago and wishes she had done it sooner. The facility is fun, lively, and active with lots of residents. Staff is very helpful and and friendly.

My Uncle lives here!
I love the staff they are so wonderful. They really take great care of my uncle. He loves the live entertainment. I ate lunch with him, the burger was delicious. I would recommend this facility.

The activities and staff are very great. You would not want to live anywhere else. I love the outings and going to the Mexican restaurant El Sinaloense.

My mother has been living at Sunrise San Mateo for one year and it has been an absolute amazing experience for her and her family! They were so welcoming and creative early on to ensure my mother was comfortable and accepting. They went above and beyond with her and the family in communicating and coordinating. The staff is all wonderful! The greetings from all the staff members when you walk in to the care they provide to all the residents. The activity team is hands down amazing too! They really know how to engage the residents throughout the day and ensure participation. I highly recommend Sunrise!

Sunrise of San Mateo is EXCELLENT!
I have been extremely pleased with the level of thoughtful care, attention and supervision that my mother has received by the team of caregivers at Sunrise of San Mateo! My mother, who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease, wheelchair bound and cannot care for herself, has resided in the Reminiscence memory care area for nearly 5 years. Sunrise of San Mateo's Reminiscence program provides a caring, comfortable, and secure home like environment for adults experiencing moderate to advanced memory loss. The team of caregivers are trained, caring individuals that provide my mother with the thoughtful care and attention she requires and needs. I am thankful that my mother resides at Sunrise of San Mateo and find it comforting that she is surrounded by people that are thoughtful, capable, caring, well trained and genuinely invested in the well being of their residents!

Love this place!
My mother has been here for almost 6 years. The care she has received has been excellent. I am able to relax because I know my mom is in great hands. They communicate with me thoroughly. The staff is terrific. The food is good. The events they have for holidays are enjoyable. The entertainment for the residents is also very good.

General Warmth of the Community
This has been a very good experience for us. The overall community and the way they care for the residents has made it a good experience for us. The communication from the staff is okay; however, there are times the staff won't return my texts, emails, or calls about my loved one.
There are three meals a day served to the residents and there is one choice for the residents to choose from.

Greet place!
[Name removed] was a compassionate and knowledgeable about the facility, the staff and the residents. She understood the difficulties and struggles one has with a loved one living alone which gave comfort to my niece. We appreciated the whole village approach Sunrise San Mateo has adopted to serve their residents. We liked that it’s a smaller community.

Our experience at Sunrise
We chose Sunrise of San Mateo because the person they had at the time answered all of our questions and he walked around himself with the ipad and gave us a tour. She ended up with a corner room that was actually 2 rooms so it was more like an apartment. This community was also very close to our house so she felt more comfortable and we would have been able to visit often if the pandemic hadn't hit. They are a pet friendly community which nice. They did not offer as much as mobility as far as somebody taking her to appointments and things like that so that could have been a little better. She loved the meals that were provided here and she thought the quality was good. In the end she just wanted more privacy so she moved back home. I would definitely recommend to others who are looking.

I visited this one, but their memory care was not suitable for our father. We are realizing that we prefer a place that offers levels of memory care. And if the budget would permit we would like a facility with a nice outdoor area
