My mom will be able to stay at her current rent for a year and if the rent does increase my brother was told it would only be 2-3% raise and not 27%. [name removed] at St. Paul's called me today to talk through the events and stated the rent increase was a \"mistake\". I don't really believe that and think if my brother wasn't there to advocate for my mom a rent increase would have happened. My mom tells me that there are still issues with her HVAC and that outlets in her apartment from cable (they've now switched all residents to Dish) and old phone lines are still holes in the wall without the proper plastic outlet covers. Still very low water pressure. The staff in the kitchen are very friendly to my mom and [name removed] is putting together a new \"sit and fit\" class that my mom loves. Lots of the other residents wouldn't talk about it for fear of being asked to leave and they had nowhere else to go.
