I was impressed with everything about it and found myself comparing everywhere else to Pembroke. It's a beautiful home, very peaceful, the caregivers are amazing. When I first brought Mom there, they immediately started engaging her so that she would get comfortable with them. When I returned from out of town two weeks later, she went to use the bathroom with one of the caregivers -- whereas previously she insisted that I help her in the bathroom. They made her adjustment much easier than I had anticipated. It's terribly expensive, but she's getting a lot of personal attention, which she desperately needed. Mom has no interest in activities. That's probably their weakest area, but for my purposes, I have no concerns.
