Our families experience
The care takers [name removed] and the marketing gal [name removed] who has now left was wonderful, we did not have a problem with the staff but the management was horrible. The director has no busy being at this community, it was a terrible experience for our family and we would not recommend them to anyone

A wonderful home for my mother
We could not be happier moving our Mother from another facility where she was declining and had issues with administration leaving. Peachtree Villa at Suwanee is the most stable of environments offering great care , lots of activities and they make you feel like family. Our mother is very happy there!

I moved my mother to Peachtree Villa at Suwanee on [date removed] from another facility nearby. I felt she was declining too quickly and I questioned the care that she was receiving. Under Peachtree Villa staff, my mother went from barely being able to walk and being pushed around in a chair, to completely walking on her own in a few weeks. She went from being unhappy, scared, confused and agitated, to happy, content, and engaging. I can not tell you my sense of relief knowing she is being cared for at Peachtree Villa.

They really care about each individual. Felt like family.
They were great. I thought they were amazing in the short time that my loved one was there with them. Going in, the personality of the staff really made it feel like family and like home. They made us feel comfortable that they would take good care of her. The events and things that we saw going on looked great. They have a lot of activities and try to personalize things for each individual loved one. We saw a lot of that while we were there.

I feel very comfortable leaving my mother here. I trust them.
While I appreciated their efforts to keep the residents safe, their quarantine is stricter than anyone else's. Of all the places I looked at, they were the only place that had a designated quarantine wing. So that was very isolating for her when she first moved in. And then once she got to her room, they had a Covid outbreak, and she was quarantined to her room for two months, which I know is outside of their control. But that was very hard on her. Because of Covid, I couldn't do an in-person tour, so I couldn't see the residents there. After moving in, I found that there are a lot of people who are not as coherent, and there are not a lot of people in the early stages of dementia. Again, that's not their fault. That's just he stage of the people who are coming to them. I did go yesterday for my first in-room visit since she's been there, and the staff is phenomenal. They're very friendly and very wiling to help. They actually allow my loved one, since she's in just the beginning stages of dementia, to read bible verses to other residents and lead crafting classes. So they're helping her maintain the level of memory that she has now. And I think that's been a huge help to her. Activities in general are fabulous. They have twice the number of activities per day than the facility she left. Their calendar has six activities a day, which is great to keep memory care patients active and engaged. I was impressed with how clean everything was, and I checked thoroughly once I was finally able to get in. The last place we were at I was pretty disgusted, so this is a very pleasant surprise. At first I thought it was a great value, but I just received a letter stating a huge monthly increase to cover PPE, which was kind of a shock.

They truly, truly understand dementia. They don't expect my loved one to stay in her room all the time, and they understand that talking to the family is important. They call me pretty often, and they'll tell me funny little things about her. They'll say she's awesome and they did this funny thing, instead of just always getting down to business with she needs this or that. So I don't feel quite as cut off from her. They're super friendly, and there's not a soul there who doesn't know her by name or doesn't know exactly who she is and what she's like. The activities director is just fabulous. The nurse is truly good as well. Everybody there is great and super nice. What I like most about this place is that is for memory care only. That way I know that every single person who works there knows about and deals with people like my mom. Before this place, she had declined to a wheelchair and didn't know who I was. At Peachtree, she's walking on her own, she knows who I am, I was allowed to take her home for Mothers Day, and she likes to go sit outside in the sun. It's just awesome to see. I think she was nearing the end at the last place, and in just a couple months here, I believe she's gained years. At the last place, she was black and blue, and while she's fallen a couple of times here, she's never been black and blue and truly hurt. I've not tried the day-to-day food, but they grilled for us Saturday for a yard sale outside, and the food was good. They've sent lots of emails about activities, and we've gotten cards and gotten pictures they send to us directly to our phones letting us know what's going on with our loved ones. They've been washing and cutting her hair for free during quarantine. They cut her nails. If someone is looking for a place for their mom or dad with dementia, this is the place.

The community is truly supportive, caring, and friendly. This community has created a nurturing environment and my love is doing great in that environment. They are very flexible with my loved one and I would recommend this community to others.
