Oaks at Maple Ridge came recommended to me. It is in a great location and I like that it is a Christian association. I know my mom really brags about [name removed] (I believe is her name) she cleans her room. And that the staff is accommodating about her dirty laundry. All staff are very friendly.
About the facility Oaks at Maple Ridge
The community has 42 suites on one level with three different floor plans options. Each suite includes a large closet and has a private bath that is handicapped-equipped.
Our affordable monthly cost is based on the chosen suite floor plan. Each suite includes utilities and routine maintenance.
Our levels of care provide for individuals who are independent, as well as those who require partial or total assistance with daily tasks, for example: bathing, dressing, transferring, personal care, etc.
The Oaks at Maple Ridge provides three balanced meals a day, plus snacks, under the direction of our Food Service Director. Special diets are also available.
Each resident has an emergency call pendent. When pressed, pendent signals pagers worn by all on-duty resident assistants. The pagers display information regarding who need their immediate assistance.

Assisted living at its finest
My parents have been at Oaks for 5 years. The facilities are clean, well maintained, and there are so many activities for the residents. the staff truly care for my parents and give them the most personal and professional care possible.

A great choice for your loved one
Located in a quiet neighborhood, Oaks at Maple Ridge is really a nice place. The environment is very bright and clean with beautiful furniture arranged throughout in a way that invite individuals and groups interactions among themselves. The staff is very visible and friendly. They go above their expectations to make sure the residents are comfortable and their needs are met. Residents enjoy a variety of activities during the day. There are planned shopping trips as well as food excursions at a variety of restaurants around town. My relatives are. enjoying their privacy and the quietness of their apartments.

Not recommended
Trying not to be very negative but the facility did a poor job on all the thing we ask of them. My mother room was never clean we had several meetings about this and always had a excuse for the reason the room was not clean. Also asked for her bathing schedule and when it did not happen again excuse's. We did some walk-in visit and had the director go to the room on the day of cleaning and she was able to see why we had been comparing the next week when I did a visit the room was spotless and with that said that was the only time her room was clean in the year she was there This was a very disappointing we did not want to move my mother around from one place to another

Friendly place to be!
My mother has been a resident for just three weeks, but we are so happy with the staff, the environment, the food, everything! It has been such a pleasurable experience already. Staff is so friendly and caring!

If You're Looking for a Special Place I'm Sure the Folks at Oaks at Maple Ridge Could Satisfy
All the staff are friendly and helpful towards the residents here. I have already told family and friends about my experience and the community and how happy I am.
There are days that the food is really good, and some days not so good. Overall, I think the food is acceptable. The food has improved since I have been here, and the community has held meetings to discuss the food with the residents.
The management is outstanding here!

My mother will be leaving Morningside after 12 1/2 years due to finances. These years provided her with excellent care. The staff is kind, caring, and patient. Even during the most challenging times her care was utmost in the minds of the people who work there, from the director to the van driver ! Everyone cares about their work if they find another job. I wish I could name the ones who we have known the longest and who have been consistently loving.
We will miss the friendship we have made. May God bless this wonderful group of people. Thanks for ALL you have done for us.

Big Mistake !
Placing my mother at Morningside was a horrible error! I was totally duped into believing my mother would have caring, trustful oversight. It did not happen and my mother’s residential time there was a heartbreaking experience. Please investigate this facility THOROUGHLY prior to placing your loved one at Morningside. It will save you from a heartbreaking experience.

Huge mistake. If you are searching for a safe, quality, and caring facility that is designed for all facets of daily needs and provides a sense of security for resident and confidence for family , PLEASE do not place your loved one here unless they are exceptionally independent. PLEASE take the time to research annual inspections and deficiency reports— it will prevent a lot of heartache. Although the Director claims there are no staffing issues, there is an alarming attrition rate. Hardly a week went by that they weren’t “short-staffed” on several days. Large turnover of staff; poor medication management; questionable care resulting in negligence was our family’s nightmare! I tried to discuss issues with Director; she paid little attention to complaints and no action taken until MORE complaints follow. One aide consistently observed wearing headphones — all done while patients/residents were ignored and needy. Totally unacceptable. Far too late for certain people. Dining facility very good and well managed. But Not enough appropriate activities. Although the Director claims there are no staffing issues and provides a 5-star rating for herself, BEWARE and look at deficiency reports ! negligence was our family’s experience!!

Overall it's pretty good.
The only problem we have is in the apartment the toilet kept overflowing. So building maintenance could be improved. The activities are good, they go on various field trips. The food could be improved, it's a 2.5. They could have more choices, and the quality could be better. They need more staffing, they are short staffed, they have a high turnover rate. Overall it's pretty good. I like how they are helping her adjust.

I would like to hear more about your comments regarding the food and the staffing. At Morningside, we know that both are so important to creating the lifestyle that our residents want and deserve. For the food, we try to accommodate the preferences and tastes of our residents. We have Food Committee meetings where the residents and families contribute suggestions regarding the menu selections they have enjoyed and what can be improved or enhanced. We do have some always served options if the menu choices for the day are enticing for an individual resident’s tastes. Our Food & Dining Director and I would be delighted to meet with you privately as well. I am concerned about your impressions about our staffing- one of the outstanding attributes of Morningside of Columbus is the we have team members with many years of service to our community and our residents. I have been here for almost a decade. We strive daily to ensure the happiness, satisfaction, safety and comfort of our residents and the peace of mind of our families so my door is always open.
