Review for Morada Midwest City
It sounded wonderful when we first went there in February. Unfortunately there was a delay due to some repair work & my mom didn't move in until mid May. There was a big turn over in staff & my mom was very disappointed in the place & she moved back to her house mid July. She did not receive the care we thought we signed up for. She had many complaints about the food.

At first the admin staff was non existent I only got to meet the lady that handled the leases but not the main care taker of my grandpa then a new lady named [name removed] was hired and she was amazing she made the best of the stay my grandpa had there. He loved the food and loved [name removed]! The cook staff was also awesome! They knew exactly what he did and didn't like and always had it ready for him.

Good facility - no regrets
Staff was friendly, and offered variety of good activities. Loves the outdoor space. My MIL could be difficult so maybe we attempted to over-communicate but Admin and Nurse were not easy to get hold of, or reliable to return calls.

overall nice community with room for improvement
You could improve on techs. There are few that are great but most are lacking skills. I have seen them not be so nice to the residents. You need to search for better quality in the techs. These are our loved ones. I don't think I would allow my parents to stay there if us as a family weren't so involved. We are there everyday to make sure they are taken care of! [name removed] the DON is top notch. She communicates very well and does not hesitate to keep me updated on any changes. We love [name removed]and all her hard work deserves a raise!

On all 8 questions I would rate them between 4-5 on all. My mom passed away only being there a couple of months but I was really happy an appreciative of all they did for her. Staff are friendly, thoughtful, professional and good at genuine care.

We've experienced some problems but they have worked to fix them. All the staff have been very friendly. The food could be better. That's our biggest complaint. But I think they try to make food that everyone likes.

Warm, Welcoming environment
The staff has changed a lit since Nov. So can't address staffing. AaThe place itself is very nice. Garden in middle is so nice and rooms are good. Love that bedroom was divided from living area. I have recommended it to several friends beginning parent care. Thank you for referring me there. We were blessed in many ways.

Felt like family
Staff has been very helpful and friendly since day one . They really helped us make a decision while looking for care [name removed] was probably the biggest thing/person that stuck out to us. To know that she understands what my family is going through and how she explained things and not just throw brochures or pamphlets at us also really helped . We also really enjoyed how it felt very close like family

"Peace of Mind"
The staff assisting him w daily dressing, meals, etc. are particularly kind and helpful. Truly caring. We know he is safe. The only complaint is that it was a little disorganized administratively at move in, trouble getting cable on, confusion about pharmacy, doctor visit, etc. Move-in communication was a little lacking. But since then, they are taking great care of dad and we are very pleased. Very smooth after initial confusions.

Absolutley Wonderful!
I visited a friend at Morada and played games, worked the jigsaw puzzle, and had lunch. The food prepared by the chef was delicious and the Activities Director's choices of games were so much fun. The residents really seemed to enjoy themselves. The rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The marketing for Morada is very well done. Kudos to all the staff!

A Great Place!
We moved my mom to Morada Midwest City in November 2023. It has been the best place for her! The staff is all amazing. She has dementia and all her nurses and staff have been just wonderful for her. The food there is great and the cook is so sweet. You can tell she loves her job and treats every resident like she is their personal cook. My mom feels very loved and safe there. I’m so thankful that God led us to Morada. I know my mom will be well taken care of there and she calls it her home. Thank you for finding this place for us!!!!

a great place for loved ones, friendly and caring staff, would recommend
I'd give all of these a 5 except meals, which gets a 4. I know it is a small place and they do the best they can. I think they've had some people in the kitchen out sick, so it's understandable. I just don't think a corn dog is a very good meal. That's only happened once, so maybe it's a one off. My mom doesn't go hungry and am thankful for that. Everyone is really nice and we're still settling in.

The staff at Morada Midwest City was overall friendly, but the Executive Director [name removed] needs to work on her demeanor. Myself and others noticed that she talks down to some of the other employees there. In fact, one employee said "that's just how she is." That is unacceptable from my standpoint. [Name removed], however, was WONDERFUL to work with. I would recommend Morada Midwest City for someone who does not have Dementia. My loved one does, so this facility was not the right fit for her.

We picked this community, because a small number of residents made it feel very warm and like a family. Everyone knows one another. The chef has been there for 20 years and is truly a chef and makes meals and dessert from scratch so the food is delicious.

Needs improvement
Parent group Enlivant is ruining Blue Ridge. Cutting the care, the amenities and it is just the dollar that comes first. The care comes second. Considering moving our loved one. Definitely has areas that need to be improved on.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Know Oklahoma’s regulations for memory care. Each state has its own laws and inspection processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the communities you’re considering. Learn more about Oklahoma’s regulations for memory care and download the Guide to Senior Living Licensure and Inspection Reports.

  • Tour the location. Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and it helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services. Before committing, make sure that the community offers all the services your loved one needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

A Place for Mom has scored Morada Midwest City 9.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.   We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.   Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
