I would definitely recommend Light heart. We could tell that my dad was genuinely loved there. They were extremely accommodating to all of our requests, especially at the end. They let us stay with him around the clock for his final week and that was very important to us.
About the facility Light Heart Memory Care - Pearland
Light Heart Memory Care consists of facilities that are all run on an identical model which is:
1. All Light Heart Memory Care facilities are licensed and Alzheimer’s certified. They are located in Clear Lake, Pearland, Sagemont and Webster. All our converted homes are spacious, large and have lots of natural lighting. They are gracious without being fussy or formal.
2.All facilities are licensed for 8 residents only.
3.Our caregiver ratio is 1 to 4. We have 2 caregivers on duty from 7am to 7pm. At night we have 1 awake staff for the 8 residents.
4.All 3 meals are home cooked. Snacks and drinks are brought to each resident mid morning and mid afternoon. Night caregivers will also offer food and drink at night as appropriate and sometimes necessary.
5.There is always at least one caregiver talking and playing with the residents all day. That is how our schedule is set up.
6.There are organized activities twice daily. At least one is focused on music and physical activity.

A great place for loved once's works
We thoroughly enjoyed LHMC-Pearland. The entire experience from beginning to end was excellent. [name removed] and office staff were kind, courteous, and helpful when enrolling my grandfather into their care. [name removed] , the facility manager at the Pearland was an absolute gem! She made every part of the process easy. She communicated well with my family to keep us in the know. When my grandfather needed anything she let us know immediately. All of the staff was kind and cared for my grandfather and all the housemates as if they were their own. When my grandfather passed, the staff continued to show compassion and love for our family. I cannot recommend both a place for mom and LHMC-Pearland enough.

I recommend them to everyone I come in contact with
My mother spent 3 years here. They were so good to her. She had memory problems and the caregivers were patient and very knowledgeable about mom's diagnosis of dementia. She had Vascular Dementia. Our doctor said it was a very unique case and she needs very good care. Light Heart communicated with me when mom's disease progressed worse and she was in good hands. I could sleep for the fist time in years after the first day I dropped her off. I recently visited the home again and had flashbacks of where mom spent years of her life and I was reminded of her great care. I recommend Light Heart to everyone I come in contact with.

She didn't recognize me anymore.
Mom lived at Light Heart for 3 years. To see mom go through this journey was very tough. I'm so glad we found Light Heart. They were able to tailor daily physical and cognitive activities based on her needs. They incorporated cognitive behavioral training which assisted mom with coping mechanisms as the disease progresses. Mom had parkinson's which caused memory deficits and balance problems. They brought in Physical therapists and even a personal trainer to combat atrophy. We always knew she would decline, but I'm glad as a family we can choose where to send mom so she can decline safely and surrounded by caregivers that love her and spend time with her. In mom's last year, it was the toughest, she didn't recognize me anymore. Light Heart became my family. They became mom's advocate. We fired one hospice company and one home health company because they didn't provide the care that Light Heart stands behind. I will be eternally grateful for the time, care & respect they gave my mom.

They helped mom so well until she was 99
Hi, I'm Logan. Grandma wanted me to write this for her for her mother that stayed at Hollydale at Light Heart. Grandma said that Light Heart was such a blessing to her mother. Heather was kind, helpful and always took care of mom. They worked with her financially in some tough times and mom lived at Light Heart for 4 years until she was 99 years old. They always have taken care of mom and the other ladies in the house as well. They communicated so well with me.

I loved them. I would take my loved one there again if I had the opportunity. They were willing to do anything and everything. My loved one had difficulty eating, and they made sure he had the types of food he was able to eat. They really went above and beyond, from the administrative staff to the house staff, to the house manager. They were all wonderful. I know they did home cooking, and it always smelled good and looked fabulous. I didn't have the opportunity to try it though. They were always doing some type of activity with my loved one. I appreciated the value we got here with a smaller, private community, vs the larger communities we looked at.

An Answer to My Prayers
We chose My Home for my 92 year old father. Every day we are more and more convinced we made a wise decision. The family atmosphere and the dedication of the staff has resulted in an enriched life for my Dad. The owner and staff genuinely care about the the people who reside there and do whatever they can to provide for the care and special needs required. Having a RN as the owner has helped considerably in making the right decisions for my father's care. I feel secure in knowing that my father is in good hands at My Home.

Nice new alternative
Beautiful facility, new - open a year. Nicely decorated and clean. Staff very friendly. I read the one review prior to my visit, and saw the comment about the "trailers" in the neighborhood. This is a developing area of Pearland, there are now plenty of $500 k plus homes in the area as well. The neighborhood was nice, home on large tract of land. Residents were alert and visited with me while I was there. I also liked the fact that it was a smaller group home. Only negative was that there were no moderately priced private rooms available.
