Not the best experience
We were stuck between a rock and a hard place when my father was released from rehab very quickly. We had to switch him from independent living to assisted and since I already paid their exorbitant community fee of $[removed] along with $[removed] to secure a "special" rate (what they do with this community fee I have no idea since the bldg needs a total rehab). He arrived on [date removed], I gave notice of intent to vacate on [date removed] (as he always seemed depressed and unhappy) after a "family conference"and moved him on [date removed]. I know he expressed intense dislike of the place overall (his care givers were very nice but, it appears, very much understaffed), said the food was horrible and some of the folks were just downright rude and unhelpful. When you're paying over $[removed] per month, you hope that you have your loved one in a good place. I knew for sure Hawthorne Court was not that place.

A good place for Mom and Dad!
I love how friendly and caring everyone is. My only request would be to limit sugar AKA desserts, juice and hot chocolate for my Mom! I am very pleased otherwise and based on the experience we have had so far we would definitely recommend Hawthorne Court to other families.

Phenomenally Recommended
Hawthorne Court is absolutely phenomenal. I feel they saved my dad's life. I would encourage other families seeking out a place for their loved one, whether it's Hawthorne Court or elsewhere, to identify what their loved one needs and to facilitate where their loved one needs to be for THEIR comfortability. I think we forget that as people, everyone has their own needs/preferences, and it's your elderly loved one who needs to feel comfortable where they live and who they're socializing with. It turns out home wasn't the best place for our loved one like I thought it was, and I didn't realize until touring all the things he needed that we (unintentionally) weren't providing for him. He had lost a considerable amount of weight living by himself. The food here is phenomenal. Chef [name removed] is phenomenal. [name removed] and [name removed], the servers, are phenomenal, because they encourage the residents to eat. He's gained a healthy amount of weight since he's been there. The food is good, and they have anything you want at any time of the day you want it, which is a huge plus for him. They have great activities, including strength and balance classes every day. At additional cost, they provide enhancement classes, which have provided great continuity and engagement for him. My dad is never just sitting in his room, which is super important. The nursing staff is ON. They know exactly what is going on. They're engaging and intuitive. They know everyone's name, and they know where everyone needs to be. It's truly a family setting. He gets his own independence at his own pace here. And let's not forget about cleanliness. Every week they change his sheets and clean his room, and their service is top notch. Everything gets disinfected. And nobody is crabby. I haven't met one person who is unhappy there. It's not phony either - they genuinely all love what they do. So I commend their housekeeping staff, and their staff in general. I travel a lot, and Hawthorne has been right there for me helping transport him to doctor appointments, and they even stopped at the pharmacy to get a new prescription for him when I couldn't be there. When you're the one in charge of your parent's care, who is your backup? That's how I figured out I needed help and that my dad needed to be there. And Hawthorne has been that reliable backup that I've truly needed.

Unfortunately our loved one was not there long and we really only dealt with the administration but they were very accommodating. They were very good about the billing and refunding which we did not expect. Before our loved one was able to move in they held the room with no problem. We were very impressed with Hawthorne Court.

I am very satisfied with the entire experience
The care services at Hawthorne Court are very good. This is a unique situation for us since we have had so many relatives live there prior to our loved ones moving in, and for several several years they lived there. Our loved one was very familiar with Hawthorne Court which was a main reason we picked it, but also it is a one level facility. It is easily accessible and our loved one did not want to worry about multiple floors in case of emergency

A good experience so far
It is all one story so there are no elevators or stairs to worry about. The rooms in comparison to other retirement apartment we looked at are very spacious and nice. 50% of the apartments have access to the outside from the rooms and he really likes that feature so he doesn't have to go through. They have 2 options at every meal and if you do not like either of those they have a menu of 10 items that you can order off of. It has been hard getting my dad adjusted but the longer he has been there the more he seems to like it. I would recommend Hawthorne Courte others looking.

Our family had an in person tour and we could tell they were impacted by covid our heart goes out to them, but it was just not going to be the best fit for our loved one. The staff and residents just did not seem really happy and the community was not the cleanest. The staff we did meet with though were very personable and friendly towards our father.

Great!
My mother in law has lived at Hawthorne for 3.5 years. It’s a very welcoming and comfortable place for her. The staff is great and go out of their way to make sure the residents are given lots of care and attention. Highly recommend!

Independent living at its best
Hawthorne Court has been a great experience. We enjoy meeting friendly people. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good and has been a real delight to not have to cook and wash up the dishes. When we want to have food outside of going to the dining room, the small kitchen serves us well.

Amazing place to live, work and play!
Hawthorne Court is such a vibrant community. Our tenured staff are so engaged with the residents. And the residents, I just can't say enough about the wonderful bunch of ladies and gentlemen that live here and make Hawthorne Court such a lovely place to live and work. Leisure Care is such an amazing company! You won’t find another community in the Tri-cities that lives up to the Leisure Care standards.
We focus every day on a list of standards from Doing The Right Thing to Five Star Fun and living the Three Thirds Lifestyle. Three Thirds Lifestyle? What is that you ask? Come visit Hawthorne Court and ask. You'll feel the fun and warmth when you walk in the door! You'll see why one of the residents told me on my first visit to Hawthorne Court, "It's like a cruise ship that's never left the port".

Wonderful place to retire too!!
Hawthorne Court is a very nice retirement home that has independent living as well as assisted living rooms that makes it an easy transition if at some point your loved ones need more care. We have had our father at Hawthorne Court for 7 years now. He loves the independent living. The staff is very friendly and they know the residents by name when they go down to the eating area for meals. We are very happy with all of the activities they offer the residents and family members as well. They always decorate the main entry way with decorations for every holiday and event!! We would recommend looking at placing your loved ones here as we have been very happy over the years with our father's care.

The staff is extremely caring and very friendly.
They take an interest in the residents and follow through with any needs the residents have.
[Name removed] was especially helpful with getting me info for my dad.
She also very attentive and helpful when I brought my 2 young grandsons to Birthday Dinner. She helped accommodate a PBJ pallet!

Love it.
My mom has been a resident of Hawthorne for 3.5 years. She LOVES it here as do we, her family. The staff is seriously awesome, genuinely caring and go out of their way to make sure that all the residents are happy and cared for. There’s lots of activities and fun things for residents to participate in and if mom doesn’t sign up, they come looking for her ;) I feel very blessed to have found this great place for my mom. We highly recommend!

Great community!
I have been to numerous senior living communities and have worked with different management companies and Hawthorne Court and Leisure Care are among the best! This community is warm, welcoming, and home-like with the most spacious apartments that I have seen in Tri Cities. It is easy to see and understand the great reputation Hawthorne Court has in town.

Drove by after meeting at Three Rivers and it seems to be a larger complex which I believe wouldn't work for mom as she would get lost in all the buildings.
