The facility is very nice, clean, beautifully appointed, friendly helpful people and great communication. There is a variety of activities every day, including outings and musical performances and many special events, like bbqs and picnics that include family members. The staff was easy to get to know and communicate with every day. We received phone calls if there were issues. Unfortunately, as with many facilities, they were sometimes understaffed.

Gig Harbor Court provides independent and assisted living for seniors at its warm and welcoming community in Gig Harbor, Washington. The community is surrounded by the beauties of the Pacific Northwest, which residents can bask in while sitting out on the delightful outdoor patio. Bright, sun-filled common rooms await residents inside to participate in scheduled activities or relax and unwind.
The community offers independent living, assistance with activities of daily living, and medication management. The pet-friendly community has studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans for residents to choose from with spacious closets, walk-in showers, and individually controlled climate systems. Residents enjoy amenities such as daily meals in the elegant dining room, transportation, and housekeeping and laundry services.

Horrible food
The food served to the folks here in Gig Harbor is terrible. We have eaten with our parent several times, and could not believe what was being served for the amount they charge to have my parent there per month.
Please do something to fix this. My parent complains very little, but does not like the food and so rarely goes to cafeteria to eat.
This should not be happening! If it does not get fixed, or get more healthy for these folks who deserve to be treated to decent food, I will complain in a more professional way.

Felt it at the door!
This is a great place! I felt it at the door from the first time we arrived. I was coming from out of town and did not know what to expect. It exceeded all my expectations and then some. I have new friends and lots of opportunities to be active. Our Chef is attentive to my needs and makes some pretty good food! My favorite is my apartment. It is a nice size with huge storage/closet space. I'm feeling good in this neighborhood!

Great place, ask a lot of questions prior to signing
My loved one is currently a resident at Gig Harbor Court and his experience at this facility overall has been okay so far. The move in process was good. However, they do need to disclose the large move in deposit to people, which was a big surprise to us. Also, the family should have had a tour of the facility prior to move in. The housekeeping is spotty, at best. Same with the laundry.

Feeling Blessed
Gig Harbor Court has a great happy hour at least 3 times a week. We are able to see the entertainment and have a cocktail with friends. Sometimes they hold the events outside when the weather is nice. They really go out of their way to bring us things to do and have fun!

Love the tacos!
I never made tacos at home and our Chef makes terrific food! My favorite is the tacos! He always comes out and speaks with us and it truly makes it feel family like. The whole department does beautifully.

I love the staff here at Gig Harbor Court. They are very patient and caring. Communication with the family has been good. I can call anytime and talk to the staff with questions or concerns. There are a variety of activities to choose from and indoor and outdoor spaces for the residents to sit and relax. Family or friends are welcome anytime. I talk to the nurses and aides checking in how things are going daily and they're always willing to share. The facility is very clean and pleasantly decorated, making visitors and residents welcome. They decorate for the seasons and holidays, which keeps a cheerful atmosphere for everyone. There are a variety of foods served and overall it is good quality. I would like see a bit more flavor added with spices and herbs since the salt content is kept understandably low. I would recommend Gig Harbor Court to others. As with any place, family should keep in good contact with the staff and establish a good rapport. It is more of a boutique sized facility, with only 78 residents versus the average of 200. Also, they were voted Best Assisted Living Facility by US News.

Boutique Sized Means More Like Home
GH Court has incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. With papa at his previous location, it was too big. Staff turn over was super high so no one knew you or you didn't know them. Increasingly it felt like they didn't have time for you or their residents. This is not so at GH Court. Staff stops to talk with you and see how you're doing (even though I'm sure they're busy too). The food at GH Court is really good and activities keep the residents entertained. I highly recommend GH Court and hope it always stays "boutique style" because that's what truly makes it feel like a home and not an institution.
