Perfect timing worked for us
The staff are very friendly and communicate very well at this community. My father is very happy at this community. They have activities like movies every afternoon, health and fitness activities, discussion groups and some offsite activities as well. They also offer religious services on site and off site. The number one thing is that the medical staff have been pretty on top of things.

Find a different place. We picked this community because the offered 24 hour nursing. They need to improve with upper management and communication. Also Sales, they tell you all kinds of things intake that do not prove to be true.

I toured this facility and it went ok. They're transferring to new Ownership, so I'm sure there's going to be changes with that. As far as my tour, it went pretty good. Cleanliness and friendliness was good.

I toured Brighton Gardens of Northville and it was a nice, clean facility.
We chose another community because Brighton Gardens just wasn't a good fit for our loved one.

False Presentation: Don.t judge the book by is cover--It can be deceiving
In the beginning the service was great. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Oh! but as soon as the honey moon period was over. The staff's true colors began to surface. As a result there has been an noticeable decline in my mother care, however within the past four weeks her care drastically took a nose dive downward. There is a lack of activities and specialized program provided on the memory care unit. The meals served on the memory care are terrible, unattractive/unappealing and unfulfilling. As a result I had to supplement her meals by bring food for her.

better than average, but use caution
the food is poor quality in the memory care unit; whereas on the assisted living side the food is leaning towards a 5/5. same thing with the activities. memory care residents just watch tv all day long, and nothing else.
the value for the cost is low, with respect to expectations.
I've been to over 40 senior communities and facilities in the Detroit area. I have seen both good and bad places. when you walk into Brighton Gardens, it doesn't smell and it looks good. but the memory care is sequestered from the rest of community and its really lacking. I was talking to director there and was told that my dad was given hotdogs 3 out of 5 days and sandwiches with oven heated French fries on other days - I was livid. the director replied, "I wouldn't mind having hotdogs every day of week". that was not what I wanted to hear because that's not what we're paying for. it wasn't until then that he told us we could go out into the main dining room where there's a variety of different foods and choices - so whenever my mom comes to visit, she'll try and take him out there to get better food. the memory care residents don't know how to speak up for themselves, as they aren't cognitive of the quality of meals and variety that should be there. we're currently trying to figure out how we can transition him back home and into a home healthcare agency.

The Brighton Gardens of Northville looks like a home and we have had a good experience so far. When we were moving our loved one from a different facility, that facility had a covid outbreak and our loved one tested positive. Brighton Gardens held our loved ones room for us for 30 days without any additional fees. They went the extra mile to work with us and were so accommodating.

We had a great tour with Brighton Gardens, the facility was beautiful and they gave us all of the information that we needed. We just liked the open layout of another facility more, this one was a little smaller. The apartment were large and they loan you very nice furniture to use.

To me most staff has been great. However according to my mom, several of them have been really mean to her. It was a real concern to me when I had to ask for a re-evaluation of her meds. I believe Mom was overpaying for quite some time. Concerned that they charge for in-room meals.

We chose Brighton Gardens because they offered memory care here. They do offer shared and private rooms at this facility. I think that the front line staff members here are excellent who work with my mom all the time, they have done a really great job. I would recommend to others looking.

We liked this a lot. [name removed], their sales director, was awesome. Very informative, and knowledgeable. She answered every question. The building is well maintained and very clean. They have a lot of activities for the residents. We met a nurse, a care manager, the activities director. The studio would be perfect. This is now our first choice We loved it.

Great place for a loved one
Our loved one was there for only a short period of time, but the staff members were great and very accommodating. If our loved one had a special request for food the chef would make it and the staff would deliver it. He also received physical therapy there, it was just excellent we have nothing bad to say.

Beware
At first, the community was clean and so was her room, as time went on the cleanliness went downhill. The communication from the community was not good at all and I was not getting basic info sent to me. We had billing issues with the community also.
