A dump
My father in law was placed in Wesley at Pennypack's Skilled Nursing Unit. Unfortunately, due to COVID we were not able to visit the facility to see if first hand. My father in law passed away last week, and we were allowed inside to see him before the funeral home took him away. I was astonished at the lack of cleanliness and care of the physical facility. His room was filthy, The floors were dusty and had pieces of plastic and trash laying around. The mini blinds were broken. The walls had marks all over them from furniture scrapping against them. The furniture itself, was falling apart, pieces of the armoire drawers were broken off and the head of the bed was splintered. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, but due to the reason we were there, I didn't think it was appropriate while we were mourning our loss.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on your loss. Please be advised this is not typical of our resident rooms. We hope that if you or a loved one need care in the future and under different circumstances, you'll reconsider and give us the opportunity to provide you with a better experience and show you why our residents and their family members love Wesley Enhanced Living.

WONDERFUL DECISION. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.
We just wanted to take the time to define our experience with Wesley Pennypack Park. Our Mom is 96 and we finally, after 5 years from the passing of Dad, talked her into moving from her Philadelphia home of 73 Years. We took her to two tours of Wesley and she liked both visits. Mom is extremely independent and loved the apartment with the washer/dryer on the same floor in the kitchen !!. She decided to make this change [date removed]. The family was delighted as she would have a safe environment with lots of new friends to share stories and meals with. She was so excited and was ready to move. Mom moved into her independent apartment [date removed]. We got Mom partially settled in when the COVID 19 came to the USA. Shortly after, quarantines were put in place and Mom was on her own, or so we thought. Wesley's staff and personel have gone above and beyond to keep all residents safe and happy and that no one gets forgotten and most of all keeping healthy. Supplied with games and books to color, added additions to the menus, they have kept her spiritually in touch. Wesley Management has also been keeping the family updated constantly with what is happening. We can put our head on the pillow at night knowing Mom is safe. We talk with Mom daily. She lets us know that she gets a note with each meal updating what's happening in the community and how to follow the protocol to stay safe. Mom is really teachng us a lesson or two how we can make it through this unsettling time. She reminds us of the World Wars and the Depression. We are hoping that Mom will be able to really enjoy the pleasures that Wesley has to offer outside her apartment walls. Wesley is truly, in our opinion, a wonderful and compassionate facility as this pandemic is new to them as well. They have touched our lives and our Mom's. We look forward to seeing her and personally thank each and everyone at Wesley.

We appreciate your feedback and comments regarding Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park. Unfortunately, you visited us on a day when temperatures were above average and our air conditioner was being worked on. If there was an odor, that may have played a part, and lights were intentionally dimmed to try to keep the building cool while the unit was being repaired. We apologize for any inconvenience and less than satisfactory experience this outage may have caused. If you would like to revisit the community, we would welcome the opportunity to show you our community in a better light. We look forward to hearing from you again!

Best nursing home
First [Name removed] (admissions outreach coordinator) is the best at her job. She was very helpful and very attentive to my needs. She was able to help me get my mom in this facility immediately. The staff and the workers here are wonderful and friendly. This is the best nursing facility. I’m so thankful to everyone who works in the facility.

Plenty to offer, but still affordable
My mother has been at Pennypack for 6 months now. At the time, after visiting a number of options in the area, we were beginning to despair of finding an acceptable independent-living option that fell within her price range. Pennypack offered the perfect balance of affordability and amenities, and, to be honest, seemed almost too good to be true. I've been putting off writing this review as it can take time to settle in to a new community and really appreciate both the pluses and the minuses. It's now been almost 7 months, and my mother LOVES Pennypack. Importantly, she is not shy and has made a conscious effort to engage. She takes full advantage of the many activities available, including the regular shopping trips, educational opportunities, an excellent concert series they hosted, the movie nights, and access to the exercise bikes. Her health has improved dramatically and she really feels like she is part of a community. Staff check in if she's not at dinner, to see whether she needs anything. When she had questions about changes in her insurance coverage, they walked her through everything until it all made sense. From the front desk to the dining staff, she knows pretty much everyone by name at this point and I am struck by how frequently (and genuinely) she is greeted when we walk through the halls together. There are of course areas for potential improvement. She lives in the older building and there are a few places that will benefit from refurbishment, plans for which are apparently underway. While there is a computer room, it was definitely one of the more outdated and less inviting ones we saw among the different facilities. In all, though, we could not be more grateful to have found Pennypack.

Toured this community on the 18th of December. Staff very friendly and able to answer our questions should Mom need to move to a higher level of care. Clean environment. Resident's looked well cared for and comfortable. Studio apartment was a nice size. Assisted living resident's able to mingle with Independent living, which I thought was nice. Beautiful court yard, would not even know you where on Roosevelt blvd, courtyard is large and centered in the middle of the building.

Personal Care Respite Stay
My MIL needed a place to stay after being released from rehab post hip replacement. Her previous residence was no longer a viable option and as the hospitalization happened suddenly, there was no prior planning. We ultimately chose the Personal Care unit at Wesley Pennypack not only because it was lovely, really a very nice look and feel to the entire place, and that the marketing staff was super helpful and easy to work with, but because in addition to the personal care unit, they also had what seemed like a viable option for "later" with a more active community. The only negative I have to say was the confusion upon admittance about who handles what medically speaking. Having come from hospitals and rehabs where everything was handled, and those places wrote orders for what should occur next, there was a combination of a paper misplaced and then a misunderstanding about whether it had been received that led to some concern and frustration in the first 48 hours, but that was all resolved and it was of no fault of WEL's, just the nature of a move like this with many people being involved on both sides. I would highly recommend visiting this community to see if it feels like the right fit for you or your loved one. Its hard to imagine how upscale it can feel being so close to the main road and for the price. The people there really seem to love working there and their interactions are always helpful, pleasant and caring.
