Life at Emerson S Collins
I have found this location to be very welcoming. All services here are good and I am grateful for that. I spend a lot of my time volunteering and working the convenience store here. There are a lot of other great activities we all share.

Good leaves something to be desired I really feel they need a certified nutrition/cook, I think they also should have better security such as cameras in the resident hallways, keep the fall pendants instead of getting rid of them, finish the repairs they started.

Emerson South Collins Review
Emerson was a place for me to bee closer to my job, not much if any participation with activities provided. For worked full time. Staff was helpful and awesome. There was substantial increase in rent last year of $100, and this year the director told me going up $50 more. Can't extent any further.
Each person is different in their experience. My experience is different for I didn't have much contact with residents, or wait staff, except now and then in the cafeteria. Most residents don't work so there experience would be different.

Emerson South Collins
I love my apartment and I have my furry friend with me. My Apt consists of a kitchenette with loads of storage and sufficient counter space. It has a living room off the kitchenette where I have room for a fold down table, 2 chairs to put at the table, and a futon which is my sofa. My TV is huge and sits on 2 large boxes consisting of 18 openings which hold an assortment of books, family photos, and my late daughter's dolls, mostly Barbies. It is a lovely area. From that you enter a good sized bedroom with a walk-in closet. I have my dog's bed in there. His kennel is under the large bedroom windows. He has a choice of where he prefers to sleep, usually choosing the bed in the closet. Off the bedroom is a full bathroom. The shower is large enough to put a chair in which makes me feel so much safer. There is quite a bit of storage space under the sink counter with a full size mirror and a small cabinet over the toilet for toilet paper and assorted towels.

The place is no longer "assisted living" it is "senior living". I guess the staff is normal staff, just takes a few days-a week to get things fixed. They changed management. The cafeteria has apparently gotten so bad no one wants to eat there.
Based off of our experience, I would not recommend Emerson South Collins to others looking.

The owners are straggling to keep it open and the residents suffer because of it. I think that this summarize the problem there. The staff are so sweet and try to help but because of management. Their chore is difficult

Nice place. Very helpful and friendly staff. There are issues in the cafeteria. They don't always have what is needed or wanted. They seam to always be short of help. Food is usually pretty good though.

I'm not going to be truthful about my experience here because it might come back to haunt me. So, with that said...there multiple independent communities being right now. Go there. Enough said. No hard feelings just hard facts.

Review for Emerson South Collins
I know every business has had to make concessions during this difficult economic time. However, w/the seniors 3 meals were originally provided. I understand providing a sandwich meal on Sundays so the staff can enjoy their family. Though rent is up, food services are cut leaving seniors w/out dinner everyday of the week. Fried foods are often served to often. The elevators need to be serviced so no one gets hurt.

They have taken away most of the things we did have. Housecleaning is now every 2 weeks and all they do is change the bed and sweep the and throw something in the toilet. The meals most of the time are terrible. They took our dinner meal away from us and breakfast is cereal and eggs that are almost inedible. The halls smell. They say we will start having dinner back one day at a time buffet style. The front desk is embarrassing. The people are very friendly but are not professionals dressed.

My loved one was previously a resident at Emerson South Collins and the overall experience was good. Emerson provided a safe, active environment. The move in process was easy and the staff was friendly. The other residents were happy and friendly, as well. Based on our experience, I would recommend Emerson South Collins to others.

They have staff in multiple positions taking care of different affairs. Example: Director of Sales [name removed] needs the accompaniment of the Executive Director,[name removed], and Maintenance Man to assist on tours for sales of apartments.
Emerson South Collins is in need of a lot of reconstructive foundation work. As time has passed, there has only been a lot of path work done on the building still leaving a lot of problems.
When looking into a place to call home make sure the place and note "YOU ARE INTERVIEWING" gives you copies of all paperwork showing their amenities and have them initial and date form. Also, a must that they produce background checks on all tenants as part of rental agreement.
At Emerson South Collins, amenity documentation is provided to you but within a month of your rental agreement, amenities are subject to change with a four day notice as I was given. Example: Amenity - 3 meals served a day. Rent started in May '23 and last 4 days in June '23 dinner will no longer be being served. WOW!
Housekeeping very quick and through. Better watch out because your sheets on the bed most of the time will be put on side ways.
I have just recently left Emerson South Collins due to unhealthy conditions, the fire alarm always going off and the Fire Department always having to be on standby, Health Department called in with food issues in kitchen this year 2024 several occasions, food quality very poor and quantity being fed poor men losing weight like crazy.
Right after I moved I was told about a severe BED BUG ISSUE to where the whole 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor had to be treated, along with tenants removing items from their apartment.
I am so glad that I got out of that place in the nick of time and would never ever recommend it to anyone or for anyone to place a parent.
Before I left when 12 Oaks took over Emerson South Collins with mighty promises of [name removed], Director, it only has come crashing down to only get renters in the apartments that they can and by whatever means they can!

very unhealtly
This place very very unhealty living conditions the staff is dose not care about anyone . We have lived here for 10 months and it gets worst by the day.
I have heard from many residents here and thier family that they have had not only medications but ,coats shirts and other items missing from there rooms.
This is a very bad place ,I have been told by a resident, that one of the front desk peoples grand kids was wearing her shirt the he family gave her one of a kind

Staff is great, very helpful and friendly. The housekeeping is good. Moving in was easy, they showed you how to get big items in. You are able to take your meals to your room, just have to bring your own container. They have really good food and you can pick from a couple of items. Communication with the family is really good.

I do wish they would bring back supplying meals at dinner for the residents that way they don't have to spend extra on food for dinner. Overall my Dad seems to enjoy it and now I am worry free for him because he has a nice secure place.

he best place you can ever live.
The friendliness, helpfulness of staff, the community as a whole as made my mom much happier, and having PT/OT right there in the facility did wonders for my mothers rehabilitation after coming from the rehab hospital from when she broke her femur. I cannot express how grateful I am especially for [name removed] she has been a plethora of information and guidance for my mother and I. I would live there if I could! [name removed] she never gets the full accolades she deserves and she loves her job and the people that live there.

My Experience
I lived at Emerson South Collins for almost one year and my experience at this facility was terrible. Every time that it rained, it rained in my 2nd floor apartment. They agreed to leave Sunday dinner at my apartment and I agreed to pay $5.00 for the service for the next six months. They delivered it only three times. The dining staff had a terrible attitude, except for [name removed] whom they made head of dining service. Perhaps things are better now. The quality of the meals was poor. Turkey pot pie sounds great until you ate it and it had few vegetables and was bean based with two pieces of meat and plenty of beans in it. The deserts were minuscule In size. I hear that they have cut back to two meals now. The social director quit. They asked a staff person to head up the position after 5 months and the program went from none to bad. The staff are pleasant. [name removed], in maintenance, is like a bull in a China shop. He came to fix a leak under my bathroom sink. I guess he spilled something under the sink and used my good matching hand towel and took it. After their trying to replace it with an inferior quality of towel, I left with the front desk the matching cloth. It disappeared. After 2 months, I replaced it and they did give me rent credit for it. Next, [name removed] came in and thinking the water was coming in from a bad air-conditioner. I walked in and he was cleaning up the broken pieces of 5 out of 10 ornamental glass cat figurines which my daughter had given me for my birthday. There was no way to replace them and so I was just out. I then again told him that the water was coming from the window. The window was never fixed. I told the manager that I felt that they had broken the contract and that I was moving out. The new manager was kind enough to not charge me for two months rent.
