The staff is very friendly and helpful. I manage Mom's care long distance and they are very easy to work with and keep me updated whenever there is an issue with Mom. My father was matched up with some other men that had common interests. So no considers them new friends. Which is amazing. He would say the kitchen staff is really friendly and food is great! They work closely with residents’ families. The food is fantastic and the residents are like family to each other. Everything is clean and well kept. It truly is a wonderful place. We feel so lucky to have found it and breathe a sigh of relief every time our father says how much he loves his new home there.","reviewerDisplayName":"Chrissy Y","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Our Experience","reviewContent":"We are pleased with the facility in general. I suppose they all have their problems. I find laundry to be an issue. Dad's clothes & sheets & towels seem to go missing. The food is absolutely terrible. He is in memory care now, so I'm aware they will have a different menu due to swallowing issues - but he makes faces when he eats & he would always eat anything. The residents in assisted living complain about the food all the time. Some of the staff is absolutely amazing. Some - not so much. I know that's not really helpful, but it's true. I would recommend the facility in general, as I know he is safe there and seems happy enough. ","reviewerDisplayName":"Michelle","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"friendly and caring staff","reviewContent":"My mom loves the Devon Oaks Assisted Living community and the people there. My experiences with them have been equally good. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families. \n\n\n","reviewerDisplayName":"Anonymous","experienceTypeId":4,"experienceTypeName":"I'm a loved one of a resident or client"},{"reviewTitle":"Our experience so far","reviewContent":"The facility is very clean. They have a lot of activities going on. Everyone seems to be very helpful in answering questions etc. They always respond quickly. I love the lobby and general hang-out room when we go to visit. There is a lovely patio in Memory Care and also in Assisted Living. Both are fantastic and we have access to both when we visit. The food wasn't great the one time that we ate there. It appears to be mediocre at best. Our loved one started out in Assisted Living and then moved to Memory Care almost immediately. We are having a hard time because he is not nearly as far along in the progression of the disease as everyone else in there. This limits his activities and general conversation/interaction with other people. We understand this is for his own good - as he was wandering into other people's rooms etc. but they don't have the man power to keep track of him all the time. Again - understandable. He had a wonderful room and is now in a tiny space comparably. We are getting used to how things run - but I feel like housekeeping is an issue. His room doesn't appear to be cleaned regularly and I don't believe they have ever changed the sheets. I would like to know how often he is getting a shower and I know he is not made to brush his teeth and that is upsetting. I think I would recommend this facility for Assisted Living. I'm just not crazy about Memory Care. Again - we are still learning and I may be wrong about a thing or two.
