We are a small care home community located right in the middle of an area ripe with other care homes and senior residencies, as well as a quaint shopping village consisting of natural grocers and thrift stores. D&I provides a special combination of personalized support services, health care, and housing, designed to meet the individual needs of our residents. With our high staff-to-resident ratio, we aim to treat all of our community members with respect and tenderness.</p>
<h3>Our Community</h3>
<p>D&I takes pride in providing quality customer service, allowing our small community of residents the ability to enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle in our warm, homelike environment. There is a swimming pool and jacuzzi tub available for our residents to relax, along with numerous other community amenities. We promote maximum independence and dignity of each of our residents, and encourage the involvement of their families and friends. </p>
<h3>Living Arrangements</h3>
<p>D&I is a small care home which is designed to house 5 select residents. There is wireless internet available as well as climate control for comfort. We have a secured building to keep our residents safe from outside elements, and to discourage wandering behaviors in individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia. We offer wheelchair accessible rooms and showers for those who require such features.</p>
<h3>On-Site Activities</h3>
<p>Our residents can exercise their physical and mental health with a number of activities offered. We like to involve everyone in collective games in our common areas. Our therapists can help fill the day with physical movement, thoughtful activities, and even speech therapy to keep residents sharp and engaged. </p>
<h3>Dining</h3>
<p>D&I’s kitchen serves delicious meals, which consists of rotating daily specials alongside our always-available snacks. Residents are offered three healthy, home-cooked meals per day, and our chef can create menu items to accommodate varied dietary requirements, such as Kosher options.</p>
<h3>Personal Services</h3>
<p>The staff at D&I are able to assist residents with a number of daily activities. Caregivers can help residents in and out of the shower and can provide assistance with dressing and toileting. Frequent staff presence is available to aid you or your loved one with any time-sensitive needs. We also have a staff beautician who can provide personal grooming services.</p>
<h3>Medical Care</h3>
<p>Some of the medical services that D&I provides includes medication management, as well as physical, speech, and occupational therapies. Our community offers respite care - a short-term stay at a senior living community - perfect for those recovering from a hospital visit, the interim during which a caregiver takes an extended vacation, or simply to experience a senior living trial period.</p>
<h3>Visiting Care</h3>
<p>Beyond our trained staff, there is a visiting nurse who comes to evaluate our residents’ health, and can recommend any changes needed. We always have a doctor on-call in case of emergency, and for regularly-scheduled visits to have a detailed, critical observation of our residents’ health markers.</p>

<p>D&I is licensed as an <em>Assisted Living Home</em> with <em>Directed Care Services</em>. These terms are defined as follows:</p>

This type of facility provides resident rooms or residential units to ten or fewer residents.</p>

<p>The term <em>Directed Care Services</em> refers to programs and services, including personal care services, provided to persons who are incapable of recognizing danger, summoning assistance, expressing need or making basic care decisions.</p>
