-A nice community with room for improvements. depends on what you want.
They could improve by having someone here, in charge, 24 hours a day. People get locked out, ambulance drivers cannot get into patient room and no help to assist residents with any problems. They said it was run as a hotel.

It was the best decision I’ve made for my Father. He is 88 but a very charismatic man. He loves to talk to people and the Creekside community welcomed him with open arms and he loves it! He feels like he has his own place and I see the independence that he displays more now that he’s amongst his community of people that are like him. Nice facility maybe a few upgrades and it would be perfect.

How Can This Be?
I wouldn't consider unless there is absolutely no other way possible. It is terribly dirty; I had to scrub down the laundry facilities before I dare use it. Then no one keeps it clean.
Food is almost poor; I don't know budgets and that's party of it. Food is NEVER hot. Soup is tepid. You can't sip a cup of coffee -- drink it right now or it's too cold !! And dirty dishes-- everyday!! I brought my own glass to every meal. It's that bad.
The managers should be released immediately and go on search for a person who isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty. Literally! The senior manager seems to have minimal if any business sense. She isn't able to explain journals to residents-- and she created them. No more dogs were to be allowed when I came in August and lo and behold two dogs arrived (that's what forced us out of our home). The hallway stinks of dog. Apparently one dog owner allows his pet to toilet in the apartment. Some residents down my hall discard sanitary products in inappropriate methods thus the horrific odor in the laundry. Management knows this; she told me. But is anything done to correct.???? I think she may be afraid of her own shadow. She has absolutely no skill to manage this environment.
You don't have to be modern, or trendy. But there is no excuse for this filth. Even poor people deserve decent treatment.

Really comfortable, definite upgrade!
He likes the apartment, the grounds, the neighbors, the food and the staff. The only negatives were the elevator, refrigerator and toilet trouble which are all being addressed. So far, so good!

Review for Creekside at Shallowford
The location is perfect. It's near shopping and restaurants. Don't expect the food to be good or the menu to be very diverse. They do offer "light housekeeping" but are unable to keep the staff the do it. We found ourselves having to empty our own trash and clean the space for our loved one because there was no one there to do it. We were paying for "light housekeeping" that just didn't happen. Additionally we needed things fixed and light bulbs replaced. We ALWAYS had to ask multiple times. My loved one had her toilet overflowed. She reported it at 8am and at 5pm called me because her toilet wasn't fixed. I ended up fixing the toilet and then cleaning the mess. My loved one had to use the bathroom down the hall. My loved one is physically disabled, so this was disappointing.

It is clean the staff bends over backwards to help us with anything we need
The food is good, we eat in an area that looks like a restraunt complete with waiters. They have shuttle service. The grounds are large, well maintained and you feel your in a park.

My brother-in-law has been monitoring my wife’s mother’s [name removed]. He has been very pleased.
My mother-in-law has been very pleased with the care she received. The meals were good as reported by her and my brother-in-law facilities are Clean and the staff is caring.
She has made a few friends in the short time she has been there

Love this facility!
The office might recommend someone to befriend a new resident. They are very friendly , [name removed] is in the office and [name removed] is maintenance and does much more than that. He's great!
I had to be very gentle with my mother in law and luckily someone I know lives there and kind of took her and made her feel like she had a friend. They can help with that too.
I actually like the food, my mother in law isn't too crazy about it. I know it changed a little when they changed the head cook. And my mother in law doesn't eat pork for religious purposes so anything seasoned or with bacon or pork, she won't touch so it's mostly her that doesn't like that but there is a lot she likes as well.

Perfect fit!
The staff is very friendly. In one year there have been many changes to employees and managers but all have been friendly. I would say everything is great except for the inconsistency with the meals. They run out of food a lot, some things don't taste well sometimes like they are over or undercooked. But then sometimes it's great. That's why it's a 3 just not consistent.

Overall pleased with our choice.
Size of apartment is good. The amount for rent went up considerably this year.
They need to improve on serving meals on a timely basis.

Creekside at Shallowford
I need to tell you that my experience is that I got snuckered. I was told that as an incentive to sign up, I would get 15 percent off rent up front and $[removed] for 3 months. For the apartment I chose, rent would be $[removed] minus 15 percent minus $[removed] or $[removed]. I asked if the service advertised were included in the rent and was told they were. When I received my bill (and I didn't move in until [date removed]), the charge was $[removed]+. Two days later, I went to speak to the leasing agent and was told, "He no longer works here ". Some adjustments were made, but the bill for March showed that there Is a separate charge of $[removed]in addition to the charge for the room, and the cost for April was $[removed]+. I am required to stay for 3 months. I plan to see if I can move out sometime in May.
You also need to know that there has been large loss of staff shortly after the departure of the leasing agent.
I suffered a bad fall (not there) and was hospitalized over Easter and had surgery thereafter. Now I'm in rehab at Lifecare of East Ridge. I will likely be here for at least another week.

A great option for senior living
Creekside offers beautiful spacious apartments for seniors in the Chattanooga area. I was greeted by three different smiling faces when I entered the building! Although I did not have an opportunity to try the food it smelled delicious the activities Department seem to be coming and going with a Bus full going out on an outing and a pretty full calendar for the day inside! Prices are in line with the market I believe Creekside to be a great option in Chattanooga!

Overall good facility for the cost of residence
They just replaced the manager in the last 90 days. The assistant manager just left. They are on the 3rd bus driver in a year. They are also on the 2nd activity person in last 9 months. Food is better, but still not best we have found at another location. Still needs work.
Overall, Creekside at Shallowford is a good place considering it is far less expensive than other places. We have noted many residents have left. It has never been full.
