She can make a clear sentence followed by sounds I cannot understand. One minute she doesn't know me and the next minute she can call me by name. All of the staff seem to be excellent translators, they can discern what she is trying to say or request.\nThey do have outings-Sometimes she wants to go and sometimes not.\nThey have chair exercises every day about 4. One staff member told me she is the happiest when she is giving another resident \nSomething. I buy single wrapped chocolates about once a month and this employee carries the chocolates and lets her give a piece of chocolate after they finish the chair exercises and go to dinner. Many times she cries when I start to leave and the employee will say in an excited tone \"Hey [name removed]! Guess what you get to do after exercises? You get to hand out candy!\"\nThis distracts her and she becomes content.\nThe executive director sees her daily as far as I know and he can tell me how she reacts to him or maybe something she had told him. Every 3 months I am called to have a personal evaluation as to her status--noting any changes in her condition. I take her to her dentist and to her cardiologist.\nThis is a facility that is caring and patient with the residents. Everyone is on a first name basis here. The staff is very caring, they're over and above. The Executive Director is very hands on and always doing things around the facility. He's always smiling, willing to help, and involved. During the transition, I told him that we were concerned about being able to get my sister's medications to bring with her upon move in. He told me that if we couldn't, to let him know and that he would have them ready for her no problem. The Dr and Nurse Practitioner are great. The Dr is a certified Geriatric Physician, which I think is great. The food is absolutely amazing. Everything that I've seen looks gourmet and it's never pre-packaged. They offer a very balanced diet that's not high sugar or high carb. They have Sunday Worship Services and accommodate all Faiths. They have many activities and outings, which you can see the residents look forward to. One day I went to pick my sister up for a dr appt and she was upset that she had to miss an outing to go to the Dr. She really enjoys the outings, they all do. Recent outings have included: an evening ride to see Christmas lights, Ceramics Class, and going out to eat. Another great thing, they bill you for outings so that the residents don't have to worry about carrying cash. They keep the residents busy here and are always doing things to stimulate their brains and keep them active. This facility is very affordable and a flat all inclusive monthly rate, the only extra charges are for the outings. All in all, we're very happy with this facility! I have and will continue to recommend this facility to family and friends.
