Good facility in quiet area.
The staff has been really good to work with when we have had questions or concerns. They are very pleasant and helpful. I like the size of the facility and that it doesn't feel too big, so my mom has been able to receive good care. As far as food, they have a decent variety, but sometimes it is bland. I realize it needs to fit a number of diets, but I have tried some of it and some does not taste that great.

Our Experience
My loved one was a resident at Cache Valley Assisted Living. They were so helpful and caring! They helped us move in and set everything up. The staff is amazing and so loving. They were so compassionate and hospice was incredible and helped with his passing. I wished we would have moved him to Cache Valley sooner.

Overall good community
The staff has been really good and very supportive of my more difficult mother. I feel like occasionally we have to check in with them about things we notice that they may have missed. She doesn't always want to participate in activities, but I wish they would try to get her at least to go out and sit during activities.

A good place for elderly people who need assistance.
Cache Valley is a nice place. The community is very good, and the people are nice and friendly. It's a good place to go, especially for the money. I think they were having a hard time keeping staff because of Covid. But the staff who were there were very nice. And they had good activities.

How many aides to residents is what counts
This is a lovely, homey facility. The majority of the staff are wonderful and caring. The problem is there are not enough of them. Residents can wait 1 - 2 hours at times for an aide once they push their call buttons. Go at meal times and watch how long the residents who need help back to their rooms have to wait for someone to come get them and take them back...it can be 1 1/2 hours! Residents keep filling up rooms, but aides are not increased to help handle the extra load. Most residents are very high assistance, (in walkers, wheelchairs, etc and need help). There is also a very high turnover of aides, it doesn't help that it is the lowest paying facility in the valley. Owners care more about their bottom line then residents well being. When extra short on aides, (someone doesn't show up for their shift) , there are a high incident of falls.

The place is adequate...
My friend is doing well since his move into the Cashe Valley Assisted Living. The staff is all friendly and the place is kept clean. I have been there during meal time, and the food is served in an adequate amount. I would recommend this place to anyone looking.

Ready to go!
I took a tour and thought that the community was nice. The staff was good at showing us everything and answering all questions. I was impressed with the community. My loved one would have went here, but they had no open spaces.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Utah regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Utah regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Cache Valley Assisted Living 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.

The more we do for ourselves, the healthier we are and the better we feel. Nevertheless, there comes a time when we all could use some help with basic activities like dressing, bathing, grooming, or taking medications. Providing just the right amount of help is what we do best at Legacy House...
