Located in an upscale area of Lansing, Michigan, you can find security and gentle guidance as needed, each and every day. Best of all, staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. An alert system, keypad entries, secured entrances and exits, as well as an enclosed courtyard are also used to provide additional safety on-site.

One thing they could improve on is the laundry. My mom got someone else's clothes and laundry basket. I would recommend this community to other families. Everyone there is very friendly and kind. I feel that my mom is well cared for living at Brookdale.

Very interactive with all the residents. Very caring and friendly to residents and family members. The food is delicious! It also looks good ! Sometimes I go home and make me the same. They always serve something different. I'm only here for dinner and always have (different) soup before the meal and a dessert afterwards.

Horrible Care
Our experience was awful. The administration was rude, turnover in staffing was horrible. There was no value to their care.
Their whole front office staffing changed with in a month of our family member moving in. You couldn't get a hold of anyone at the facility after 5:00pm. Our family member laid in bed for 2 day not eating or drinking. All of her food trays were still next to her bedside. Was very gravely when we found her. She had an uti that had gone septic. No notification that she wasn't doing well.

The right choice
We have been very pleased with our experience at Brookdale. The staff is caring and treats the residents with care and compassion. It is easy to talk to any staff member and they will listen to your concerns if you have any. The move-in was made easy and the stay has been pleasant.

My grandma lived at this Brookdale location and the staff were very caring and worked so well with the memory issues my grandma was having. The building is safe and clean. My grandma and I enjoyed sitting in the peaceful courtyard and birdwatching when the weather was nice. I would recommend!

I want to thank A Place for Mom all the guidance that was given to me through this process. I understand that all facilities of this nature has difficulty keeping staff and having enough staff so they can do their jobs well. Corporations should realize that the most important asset they have to represent their facilities are the staffs on the lowest ranks. They don't pay enough to keep people from leaving and too much pressure is put on trying to keep the beds full. A happy staff will be one of the best investments these Corporations should strive for. Thank you for recommending Brookdale for my mother. It is always so nice to see her smiling when I visit.
All the staff I have dealt with have always accommodated my requests. They always have kept me informed and always responded to my chats.

Went on a tour
Sat down with [name removed] and discussed the needs for our mom. She is very patient, fun and caring. [name removed] took us through the entire community and it was very nice. The staff was friendly and acknowledge us with a smile. I kept putting off seeing this place after I drove by a couple of times it didn't look like a very big place and I didn't see a lot of out door interest such as place/patio to gather and enjoy the sun etc. [name removed] kept us on her radar and would call to see how we were doing and if we were ready to see the place. Our life got crazy and she really helped by calling us to come see. She even called one day before we met and wanted to bring a pie to us. I decided to call and schedule a visit. I'm glad I did. The inside is so nice and large. I wanted the largest apartment they had and it was nicely decorated. If your looking for a place make sure you visit this. Our visit there was perfect but we decided on a different place that was more convenient to us.

The employees are all very nice, but they don't have enough staff to care for the residents are they should be care for. Every time I go to visit, my mom has grease hair and she stinks. I have to brush her teeth and her partial, as it always has food in it. I also like that they have exercise classes for them

My husband went to Brookfield when I coul no longer handle him at home. He had Alzheimers. The Covid pandemic had just started and I was not Allowed to see him. The first time I could, it was behind a glass door. I saw a very clear black and blue hand print on his upper arm. When I told staff I was told [name removed] did not want to take a shower and they would look into it. I never heard any more. Staff continued to try to give him a shower until one day he lashed out and bit a caregiver. He was then sent to the psych ward by ambulance for 2 weeks for observation. When returned to Brookfield, [name removed] went into someone’s room and took a banana. He was sent back to psych ward and we were told he could no longer come back to Brookdale. We found him another place and never had any trouble there.
I was current with my monthly payments and was all paid up by the 1st of the month. Several weeks later. I was told I needed to pay $[removed]for the months activity fee. This was something new they just started. I said activity fee was never in my contract and Bill was long gone from Brookdale. After going around and around I finally called Ombudsman and they handled the case
I could NEVER recommend Brookdale to anyone. The administrator is in my opinion, very ridged and hard to deal with. The staff is not trained well
My husband has been dead now for 1 year. Doing this review has brought up memories of these and many more things that happened. It has been upsetting for me to remember it I hope it will be helpful to you and others seeking a good place Brookdale is NOT one of them

A very positive experience
We had a very positive experience at Brookdale Delta Memory Care, our Dad was a resident during the Covid 19 pandemic. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. I think everyone was very fond of our Dad. He always seemed pretty cheerful when we came to visit. We stayed at Brookdale for a week while Dad was being quarantined at the beginning of his stay and were served food in his room. It was very good. They even offered snacks! I have no reference for cost comparison, but the care he received was very extensive. He needed lots of help, more than we could provide at home. He got that help at Brookdale. I am sure he was not alone at the end of his life, as the caring staff at Brookdale was with him most of that time with caring words and touch.
