a nice place.
Mom was/is in the Independent Living wing...She did everything herself. Only this summer she had them come clean 1 time a week. Cleaning was adequate. They are a bit lax in snow removal of walkways. They advertise cars are cleaned off... this past winter they never did it! Mom was pretty active in Dorset and Manchester with her friends with Croquet, bridge etc. Mom had a major pipe burst in end of [date removed] and it came gushing through her ceiling... she had to move out for almost 3 weeks... the owners were in their other place...they did not come see the damage for a few days. They did end up buying her a new recliner chair...Everything got done. Overall experience was OK to good...

Not impressed
I brought my neighbor to visit. The owner asked her if she could figure out the stressful things in her life would she prefer to live at home. Of course, she said yes, despite the fact that she can't. I know because I see her everyday, & know what she requires. He said, "Then you should do that. You shouldn't come here." He proceeded to advise her on how to handle her finances. We wanted a place for her to be safe until her daughter could bring her home. If you don't want lower income short-term residents while they convalesce & figure out next steps, don't offer a monthly option. Don't pretend you know what is best for someone you don't even know. Later, her daughter visited. He told her that her mother should build an apartment onto her house & sell her house to someone who would let her live there & who would take care for her. (WHAT?!) Then said, "It doesn't sound like you'd be able to take care of her at your house, either." Which made her cry. Clearly, money is the priority.

Bromley Manor needs to be shut down
I called Bromley Manor to inquire about pricing. The first question I was asked was: “What is your height and weight.” It turns out the man was 70 years old and probably.was asking this question to see if I passed the criteria to enter Bromley Manor. I am not sure if he was asking this question so that he could date me or whether he wanted to know if I could fit into one of their small apartments. Very strange and discriminatory. This facility should be closed down.

A Place for Mom has scored Bromley Manor 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
