<p>Birchwood Manor houses up to six residents, giving you the opportunity to get to know your neighbors well and benefit from a high caregiver-to-resident ratio. You’ll enjoy a large screen TV and comfortable seating in the living room. There’s also a spacious desk for those who prefer to spend time outdoors. You can look forward to arts and crafts, pet therapy, nail and hair care, light exercise, and excursions on the wheelchair-accessible bus.</p>
<p>Nutritious meals are prepared in the home’s kitchen and served family style around the dining room table. This community can accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests. In addition to taking care of the cooking, the staff will handle all the chores for you. They’ll clean your room, take care of your personal laundry, and arrange transportation for doctor appointments.</p>
<p>Caregivers are available 24 hours a day. They’ll provide medication management, and a nurse administrator visits the home frequently. You’ll be able to select a visiting physician to provide your medical care. There are weekly visits from a massage therapist, and staff can arrange for visits from a podiatrist should you need it.</p>
<p>If your loved one needs memory care, caregivers can help them maintain their independence in a safe and structured environment. They’ll receive assistance with bathing and hygiene. Caregivers also offer hydration and toileting reminders throughout the day and provide assistance with feeding if necessary. Activities throughout the day — such as music and art therapy or story hour — provide many opportunities for engagement and socialization. Respite
care is available during the day as well as overnight.</p>

<p>Birchwood Manor offers six private rooms. You can choose to stay in a fully furnished room, or you can bring your own belongings if you prefer. Hospital beds are available if needed. This home has two shared bathrooms, which have grab bars for your safety as well as a walk-in shower.</p>

<p>Birchwood Manor is an <em>adult foster care facility</em>, which in the state of Michigan is a facility that provides foster care for adults who are aged, mentally ill, developmentally disabled, or physically disabled who require supervision on an ongoing basis but who do not require continuous nursing care.
