A home for dad
The initial interview meeting my dad was amazing. They really showed care and concern for my dad. He liked them as well. The connecting was immediate. He felt safe with them and couldn't wait to become a part of their community. That was really important to us because the quality of life he had living with us wasn't something he was happy with. He needed more and needed care and attention. When he went to Bayberry he gets exactly what he needs. He's not stuck in a room because they make sure he is a part of the activities they have going on. They have become like family and they definitely show daily that they care about him. Our family trusts Bayberry to look out for my dad. The lines of communication are always open between Bayberry and our family. We have definitely found our place for dad!!!

It was horrid. Had to move her right away. Not even there a month.
Do not believe what they tell you. After you move in the begging looking for every reason to raise the costs. Plus, the almost caused SK to loose her Veterns benefit. Different ones in admin tell you different things. They aren’t even on the same page. Most difficult situation we’ve ever been in.

I have had two loved ones who were residents at Bayberry Place. My one Aunt passed away the same day that she arrived. My other Aunt was a resident for two months before she passed. I feel that everything was great and would rate all categories at a five out of five. I have nothing but positive feedback. I liked the smaller facility, less people. I would recommend this facility to others.

Review for Bayberry Place
I would definitely recommend your place to anyone, including the people I love.I would highly recommend your place. My father is not an easy man to please. He is an old man set his ways, I always thought he would want to come back to my place within a week, He is very happy there, which was absolutely shocking to me.

The manager should have nursing because the problems we had were lack of nurses available
I really think they need a charge nurse or manager on off shifts and weekend . Someone to be proactive and resolve issues and not just write in book or place call and wait till Monday when nurse comes in . The patients needs should come 1st and not be subjected to lack of staff .There should be more than 2 staff on the evening shift - they need to do meals, meds , showers - just as busy as day shift . Night shift I could see skeleton crew , but not evening shift . I really liked the staff, especially [name removed] LPN , but [name removed]can't do it all . There's needs to some kind of manager when she is not there. There's great potential there , but...

Homey atmosphere, overall pleased, a good facility
My one Aunt only spent 6 hours there and the other one 2 months. Overall we were pleased. We liked the small homey atmosphere. It's great that it is all on 1 floor. We are appreciative of the staff that cared for my Aunt's the short time there. All were great.

Great place for loved ones, a nice community with friendly staff
We really like the smaller size of the community it really does feel like a family environment. Our loved one is getting all the attentive and care he needs and he truly says it feels like a big family. They do have a lot of activities going on, they had a Mardi Gras party, a casino night and recently started religious services. It is expensive but we would recommend this community to other families.

I highly recommend - the staff was awesome
The staff members were very friendly, but the reason we did not give it 5 stars is because they always seemed to have changes in management which was concerning. The food always looked and smelled good when we came to visit, always accommodating our loved one needs.

Friendly and Caring
My loved one is very satisfied in this community. I highly recommend it. The community is expensive, but they are great and care about the residents. If I could recommend anything for this community to improve on it would be communication, instead of me having to ask. I wish they would reach out to the family of residents more often.

I was very pleased with Bayberry. This was the first visit to an Assisted living facility. I liked the location, set up and the [name removed] whom I met with was very informative. We are not 100% committed to making this change immediately but I want to insure I am prepared. I may schedule a second appointment to let my Mom also see the facility. I was impressed.

A Good Community For My Mother and Her Needs
My mother is still adjusting to this community, but I know she is being cared for well here. They have a good staff here, they are very helpful and friendly. The community looks nice, her room and the community are very well-kept. There are lots of activities available for her when she is ready to participate. She is very pleased with the meals, the food is excellent. I know she is safe and in good hands here. Overall I would recommend this community.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored Bayberry Place 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
