Our families experience
My mother really liked it here for the time she stayed which was about 4 months. But I don't think she realized she didn't need to be in an assisted living facility from that point on. It was great for her when she got out of the hospital but not necessary for her to continue living there. All the people were super nice and went above and beyond for her. I never really saw any cleanliness issues though it did smell of urine once in awhile. The staff was generally always very nice. Some more nice than others, once in a while there would be an aid that wasn't over accommodating but generally never any negative things about anyone. Quality of care was good for my mom but I heard many stories of other people not being cared for very well. Although I didn't see any of this in my own eyes I heard it quite often from my mom that her friends were not being cared for properly there. So I can only comment on what I heard from her. My mom was definitely one of their easier residents. Overall I think my mom enjoyed the food though there was times when she complained a little bit about it. But I'll be honest she complains about the food at the new place too. So there you go.
My mom loved all the activities that they had at aviva. I think she would have been happy just doing anything. She just likes to keep busy and socialize. So she always enjoyed the activities they did. I think the value you get from staying there is worth the money. I priced out so many other places that seem to be comparable to Aviva and cost so much more. Now obviously we didn't get a chance to stay at any of those other places so I can only compare dollar value by place. It's definitely one of the cheaper places in town.

Great place for the price. Make sure you can be actively involved. Kind and compassionate staff. Welcoming and honest. Very nice but I'd love to see the housekeeping be better in dad's room. dad wishes there was more variety of food options.

Would Not Recommend It
Unless you're able to advocate on a daily basis, I wouldn't leave a loved one there without checking in on them. I constantly have to follow up with the staff. Please use this place as a last resort. I would give the food a zero if I could. My loved one got a grilled cheese sandwich with no cheese one night. I think they keep their prices down to get people in there, but the service is very poor.

Peace of Mind
The community has friendly staff, people willing to work with you to establish the correct level of care for your loved one, and beautiful grounds.
The communication with the staff is good, and they provide a direct line to communicate with the head nurse. They will make sure to send photos of my loved one participating in events to me.
The medication management is one of the care types offered by the community.

Our Glendale
My loved ones needs were greater than they were able to handle and they did not have enough staff for her care. But for those who do not have as many needs and are more mobile, I think it would be a great place and they really did do a lot. I would recommend the facility to others.

Excellent experience
The staff were very helpful and informative. They really helped us out with hospice and they had everything set up for us. It was more than we ever expected and we would definitely recommend The Glendale to other families.

Glendale as I see it
We chose The Glendale because the staff is extremely friendly and the location was close. She has a shared room which makes the price cheaper and it is suitable for two people. It has a nice layout and my sister enjoys the person comes in to play music for residents. I would recommend to others who are looking.

If you care about your loved one don't place them at the Glendale
The community was not taking care of my loved ones like they were supposed to. They did not handle our loved ones' care and did not follow the proper procedures. Her dietary need was not being met after several times letting them know what our loved one needed. I would not recommend this community to others. I complained to the parent company and they did refund the last month of us being there.

Our experience with Glendale
I would want others to know that you need to be an advocate for your loved one who is in this facility. They struggled with getting my mother the correct medications and we had to make sure she was receiving them. We had to keep on top of things most of them time, so just make sire you are paying attention. At this time, I would not recommend.

The Glendale is a smaller facility so it has more individual care. The staff is friendly, courteous, respectful, and very professional. The grounds are nice and the place is close to the express way and shopping. The rooms are spacious.

Overall a positive experience.
It was good. We thought they took good care of my mom. The room sizes were very good. My mom was there for a respite. She got a double room for herself. They had outdoor space for the residents to use. Overall it was a positive experience.

Not a good place if u cant care for yourself.
If you cant care for yourself or have a family member to be there on a daily basis you will not get good care. Staff are not certified aides and some of the nurses have attitude issues. Patients are not checked on on a regular basis and if you need help with care you are screwed. Saw this first hand. If it wasn't for Hospice coming in my loved one would have gotten next to nothing for care. Some of the staff are very questionable and my loved one was afraid of some of them. If you need a staff member good luck in getting someone. Short staffed and shady employees. Their are alot of empty rooms so that in itself should be telling.

Staff is respectful and accommodating
When you first walk into this facility, they have signs set up welcoming new residents. The building is very clean and the staff is wonderful. They are very accommodating and they keep track of my In-Law‘s very well. While I was visiting, my Mother-In-Law actually tried to skip breakfast and the staff saw this and had her come back to the dining room to eat. When it comes to activities, they have a special area for them and they have a board with things that they’re doing that day. Everyone here is very respectful and I would recommend this community to other families.

Offered Quite A Bit Of Acitivites
This community was very good we liked it a lot. The staff was friendly and nice they looked and acted very professional. The residents that we saw seemed to be happy and comfortable there. I had taken a look at the activities calendar and they offer a lot, however, most of them were towards the residents that were mobile I just felt that my aunt is in a wheelchair would have limited her to what she would be able to do.
