Horrible place!
PLEASE DON’T PUT your loved ones in the place. My mom was here for rehabilitation for a knee surgery infection. We couldn’t get her out of this place fast enough! She is now at an awesome place in LaGrange thank God! For starter this place is NOTHING like the pictures shown! VERY deceiving! It smells like urine. Hallways have carts with dried up food trays. Duct tape on the air conditioner. The rooms are nothing like the pictures. Garbage cans overflowing. When she would ring for assistance to get help getting to the bathroom, it would take over an hour for anyone to come therefore she was forced to go in a pamper! Knowing she has a weak bladder! My mom has never used a pamper! The food was just AWFUL! For one example Cereal with no milk! Dinner something that looked like a hockey puck made of cornbread. They are only allowed to shower twice a week at specific times. They had her shower without covering her infected wound, when it should have been covered to prevent bacteria,

The Director was very nice. I am looking for something more than a nursing home, specifically one that handles psychiatric patients.

A Place for Mom has scored Astoria Place 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
