Mom is Thriving
Yes. The care givers are very friendly and helpful both to my mom and our family. The nursing staff and maintenance are very responsive. Mom fell out of bed once her first week there. They immediately installed mats by her bed and protective coverings for the edges of her nightstand. Additionally, one of the reasons we needed a facility for her was due to her severe Sundowning behavior. The night staff has adjusted her routine to help keep her safe. We needed help from the administration to get information for her long term care insurance and to end her Life Alert contract. They sent the information we needed immediately. Finally, the therapy group they employ has been amazing. They gave gone above and beyond to help my mom improve her strength and to get the items she needed ( wheelchair and commode)I am so thankful A Place For Mom helped me to find Arden Courts at Okd Orchard! I feel that my mom is being well cared for in a lovely, caring facility.

Very friendly and home like experience.
It is a 5. They are very caring & respectful to the patient and also to the families of the patients. I would highly recommend them for the person with memory care.
They are very caring and respectful of the patient. The activities get the patient to interact.
They just don't let them in their room all day. They have them walking around as they can handle. It's like a home that is very homey like. Not an institution. We were very happy with them.

Highly Recommended
It is expensive but the care my husband is getting and my peace of mind is worth it. The facility is well care for and very clean. Everyone who works there knows how to communicate and help dementia patients. I have been so impressed with the maintenance staff. They are as caring as the caregivers when they interact with the residents.
I am treated like family and always feel welcome. They care about my wellbeing too. Hardworking and caring. I feel blessed to have the caregivers, nurses and the rest of the staff at Arden taking care of my husband-he is doing well.

Arden Courts Old Orchard
Arden Courts, as I ended that last conversation, I would not put my dog there. I was very disappointed with them when I first was interviewed by them and was listening to their their views on why we should bring [Name Removed] there and it was OK of course when we first got there, but as time went on, it was awful. He wasn't changed. He was always black and blue. He was very sad and the care there even when I saw them ignoring other residents always on the phone sometimes I would have to tell them this lady needs help just awful. I wouldn't put my dog there. That's all I have to say. The sad part Is they knew I was there every day all the time I even had the extra girls there for extra eyes on him and they still manage to be non-caring.

A peace of mind
So visual stimulation, secure facility, friendly staff, and staff that is visible with the residence. Clean no smell. Yes I would highly recommend this facility!!!

A Great Place for Your Loved One
Appreciated that it's a small facility specifically for dementia and Alzheimer's patients. Actually a lovely secure comfortable facility, easy for the patients to maneuver. Each patient has their own room. Great that all patients in each unit eats their meals together in the dining room. Patients are encouraged not to stay in their rooms, and activities for everyone every morning and every afternoon. Other services provided such as haircuts, podiatrist, dentist, doctor. Lovely courtyard area. Very personable help at all times. We were very pleased with Arden Courts and I've recommended it numerous times to others.

Would not recommend
The people who run it have good intentions but they are understaffed and many of the aides are poorly trained. The only means that a resident who is not mobile without help is by yelling for someone. Food is sometimes acceptable, sometime barely edible. I often had to supplement meals. I made sure to be there at lunch and supper to check. Because my husband was on dialysis, he often missed physical therapy. The incident that made me remove him was finding him lying on his bed in a tee shirt and khaki pants soaked with urine.
The room was comfortable, bathroom clean.

Our Family's Positive Experience at Arden
We were extremely pleased with the care my brother received at Arden Court. Above all, we were so grateful for the personal attention the staff paid to [name removed]. They were kind, patient, attentive and warm-- everything he needed in his condition. We could not have found a better home away from home for [name removed] to spend his final days!!!!!

Review for Arden Courts Old Orchard, A Memory Care Community
They have a very robust activity schedule and they engage all patients by bringing everyone to the community room for entertainment and religious services. The entertainment included impersonators, singing groups, outdoor picnics, car shows plus gatherings for family members on various occasions.
The maintenance staff was very attentive and the physical layout of the place is conducive to walking indoors and outside as well with gardens and seating areas to visit with family or just to rest. The various nooks like the library and bar area inside provide space to spend time with family or visitors or to socialize with other boarders. Drawbacks were: rooms are very small and the cleaning service is not the best. Also, the Meals were usually late and not what was listed on the menu if in fact the menu was even posted; no consistency there; the "chef" at the time didn't even know what he was going to make for the next meal sometimes. That was disappointing. The staff was welcoming and cordial.

Transitioning to an Alzheimer's Facility with Love
Unbelievable caring facility for Alzheimer's/dementia patients. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs care for a loved one with Alzheimer's. It's safe, secure, clean, beautifully decorated, offers activities and everyone very attentive to patients needs. Make you feel like family.

Mom's journey
The facility is well run My mom complains about the food but it seems OK. I don't think we are getting a bargain but the facility is well run and staff is very pleasant and experienced. For an Alzheimer's patient care I would recommend them. They made great progress with our mom and know how to treat and deal with Alzheimer's patients. Like I said the care is not a bargain, but you get what you pay for and mom has made a dramatic turn for the better

Level of expertise and caring varies widely. Weekends can be a real problem if no senior staff on duty.
There are other places that cost less and offer more. They charged $[removed] monthly plus move in fee.
Please note this is not a place for an alert high functioning senior! Most were non-communicative.

Friendly, caring staff

Perfect place for mom - could not ask for more
I love Arden Court!! Perfect place for my mom. I would give every category at 5 except for 8. I would give 8- value for money a 4. I feel it is a lot of money for my mom who doesn't require as much care as other residents. Also my mom doesn't join in with the activities, so we do not get that value.
I feel like the facility is warm and homey. The staff is diligent about creating a family environment amongst everyone . Very friendly and welcoming.
I enjoy going there.
