Review for Arbor Oaks Terrace Memory Care
Value for cost is hard to actually determine from available info from other facilities. I did do research prior to mom moving into Arbor Oaks. From what I could see, they are similar to others. Of course, costs are crazy high but we are pleased. Choosing a facility to place a parent is one of the hardest decisions children have to make. My father, sister and I are confident we chose correctly. We are grateful for the consistency of care mom has received. I certainly would recommend visiting facilities multiple times unannounced to get the best viewpoint. I stopped by Arbor Oaks three times. It was worth the effort.

Not recommended
My loved one was previously a resident at Arbor Oaks Terrace Memory Care. The care was good, but the management was terrible. I had an issue with billing that is still ongoing. I can't get an answer to my many phone calls. I wouldn't recommend this facility to others.

Staff is friendly and mom is happy.
Mom didn’t want to be “in a home”. Her experience at arbor oaks has been a great one. She is busy with the activities and enjoys the food and company. She’s a lot less lonely and I’m MUCH LESS WORRIED.
My mom loves the staff and they bring her extra marshmallows with her hot cocoa even when they don’t know that I’m coming to see her.

Review for Arbor Oaks Terrace Memory Care
AO is upfront with their price schedule and each resident's charge is dependent on the amount of care needed. No hidden fees. Proximity was also a high priority for our family. We all live within 1 1/2 miles and can easily visit for short periods. I have a medical background and am pretty judgmental with places. Not once was a disappointed with the facility.

Better than I expected
My husband has been at Arbor Oaks Terrace in Newberg since [date removed] after complications due to COVID-19 escalated his vascular dementia from low level to maximum. He was also admitted under hospice care. The care he has received at OAT has been more than I could ever imagine. The staff is so caring. I have not been able to visit him (plus he doesn’t recognize pictures of me), but staff sends pictures and videos of him to me. I know he is receiving much better care than I ever could give him at home. I’m so thankful for everyone who takes care of him.

Staff at A Place for Home found Arbor Oaks Terrace in Newberg for my husband. Everything has been positive with Arbor Oaks.
The community is extremely clean, the staff members are fabulous and the care services are fabulous. The director was fabulous about helping our loved one get in, we get weekly feedback and detailed reports every month about our loved ones health. They are extremely cautious with the covid protocols, they have not had one positive case between the staff members or residents. The activities director will send pictures of our loved one and they are truly amazing. It feels like a family.

Arbor Oaks Terrace is an amazing community! The staff is caring, empathetic, and excellent with the residents that live there. My mother is a current resident and I am extremely grateful that she is living in a safe, clean and healthy environment. I can’t say enough good things about this community. Everyone is so nice and caring. They really engage with their residents and take the time to know them. They do a lot of activities with the residents such a gardening, games and even make soap! The rooms are clean and the staff always keeps up on laundry. They also take residents on field trips which is so wonderful! I highly recommend this community! Great facility
Great facility - we have had other family members in other facilities in Newberg and this is by far the best. Great staff always - maybe under staffed but who know why that - it's everywhere in that industry unfortunately. But staff is compassionate and great with the different levels living there. Love the variety of activities they have daily. Management is great - communicate wonderful. I recomment the place

Great place
Our aunt is there and we love the place. The staff always seems to be so compassionate to the residents and personalizes it for each of their needs. They have great activities each day to keep it different and moving too. They encourage involvement as best as they can. Management communicates nicely with families. Questions are answered. And they have great celebrations for family members. I'd recommend this to anyone - Our aunt is higher functioning and they deal with that great!!

Short time there but amazing care.
I'm rating Arbor Oaks Terrace memory care on my limited experience that I had with them.
I wasn't able to go into the building because of Covid 19 but my mothers time there and my interaction with the staff was definitely a 5 star.
My mom was only there a short time, but the special care that she received made her very happy. She loved the food and extra attention that she received while there.
The activity director showed my mother so much love and spent time singing gospel songs with her. That was what my mother loved most was singing. She helped me skype with my mom and at a time when we could not go in to visit this was so important to my mom and I. They would sing songs to me and we loved it.
Every time I called to ask questions the staff answered very quickly and gave me the information I needed. I wish I could have met them all in person. I was able to call and the staff would take the cordless phone to her so that we could talk.
I always felt that my mother was in very special hands.

So very pleased!
I cannot say enough good things about the care givers, the administrators and staff, and the philosophy of the site. From the outset, there was something reassuring about the approach that was talked about, and once my wife was settled in, she was the beneficiary of their consistently loving care. The caregivers seem called to serve, and they accommodate the residents' needs. Individualization seems to be the norm.
I moved my wife there from a different facility only due to convenience and proximity, but have been tremendously pleased and am very thankful that she is at Arbor Oaks Terrace!

The food is good and the facility is kept clean
My mom is there currently and the staff has been good so far, but they’re a bit understaffed. I think they could use some more people but the staff that’s there is very easy to communicate with. I haven’t had the chance to try the food but my mom must think it’s good because she seems to be eating okay. The food looks and smells good and the soup is actually soup, it isn’t just broth. The cleanliness of the facility is really good, also. Some of the activities that I’ve seen or heard of are primarily group related. They’ll try to get most of the residents in a circle to participate. One time they were playing horseshoes with bean bags, another time they were doing word association games, I’ve seen that a few times. They’re doing their best to try and get everyone to socialize and my mom seems to be responding well. The other residents seem to be fine. Overall, I would recommend them.

Great Set-up
He's been doing good at Arbor Oaks Terrace Memory Care. The staff is very nice and friendly but they seem overworked. The girls work hard and it is a hard job. They did hire some more staff and they are still in the process of hiring an activities director. Sometimes I help out with the activities. The food is good and they feed my loved one plenty. I love it there and I like the setup. It is less confusing and more like his own home than the last place we were at. He doesn't have to walk so far to get to the dining room. Sometimes I wish the floors were cleaner in the resident's bathrooms, but I think that is because they don't have enough staff to do everything. They take the residents for walks and I go with them if it happens during my visits. There is a nicely landscaped courtyard with some seating available. I'm glad it is conveniently located so that I can visit often.

Mother's Outstanding Care
I am very happy with the care at this good community. the staff is very nice and always very caring to her needs. The meals are good and appealing. She is active with a lot of the great activities that she is offered. This is a community that is close to my home. I was able to talk with other families and we hope that they can get more staff available.
They are always attentive to anything that she is needed. We would recommend the care of this community to other families for excellent care.

Very nice place!
Our experience with Arbor Oaks has been a very positive one! My loved one has been here over a year now, and they've been just wonderful to us. The facility is clean and well kept, the employees are communicative and helpful, and they just do a great job looking after the people who live here. I would give them top marks across the board!
