Overall Experience
On the memory care clinic side staff was problematic but we stayed with my father 24/7 for the 3 months he was there so we didn't need the support. But if we were not there that could have been an issue. Issues with my mothers apartment, maintenance crew was helpful and engaging.

Things to know about American House Freedom Place
There has been high turnover. Staff are nice and working hard but leadership challenges have existed. They try hard. Facilities are nice. Still under staffed.
Having talked to many people....this facility is probably a little above average. There are just things we would like different. We know the care industry is struggling so we just manage it best we can. I think people need to manage their expectations whether it is here or even some high cost. We have talked to people who pay ALOT more and are unhappy. This disease is terrible and the people working in this industry have a hard job. Extremely hard.
For the price we feel it is good for us.

Positive experience, a nice community
Our family is having such a great experience with American House, it has been night and day in comparison to our loved ones previous community. The previous community lost multiple items and clothing that we never got back and that has not been an issue at American House. The staff just follow our loved one around everywhere and they always bring her along with them. They provide such great care and based on our experience so far we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Overall pleased, would recommend
My mom is adjusting and doing well so far at American House Freedom Place. The facility is very clean and the staff seemed to be organized. My mom is much more active than she was before which we are happy about. We are overall pleased with the experience and happy with the care that she is receiving here, I leave knowing that she is in good hands. I would recommend American House to others looking.

It just did not seem like there was much going on in this community. I wanted there to be more activities and movement for my loved one. The rooms were very impersonal and felt kind of empty.

A Nice Place
I feel my mom was safe there, it was clean and people genuinely cared about her. My mom did not like the food. The room sizes and layout of the community were great. They did offer outdoor space but did not look like it was used often.

Compasion and dignity do not exist except for a few.
Don't believe what you read about activities they are non existent. They claim they do all these activities but, they don't. Residents are left alone without supervision. Many are fall risks. They don't seem able to keep staff. Very understaffed. Many have to wait for their meals. Do not put your loved ones there if you truly love them.

Director is young and kinda creepy and has no clue how to run a memory care facility. Very unqualified. However the staff seems to be very attentive to all residents. I ended up putting my loved one elsewhere. Didn't want to take the chance

So Happy With Freedom Place
I highly recommend the Freedom Place! My mom had lived with my husband and I for 7 years as her dementia progressed. This past December, she had a fall and we knew we had to find somewhere safe for her to live and be taken care of. The search for a facility was difficult. I was very particular. We visited approximately 10 facilities and I was losing hope. But when we visited Freedom Place, we knew instantly that we found her new home.
[Name removed] is the director and I'm sure the previous review was before he took over the position. [Name removed] is friendly, helpful, informative, and gets right in with the caregiving. He pays attention to detail and makes sure things are running smoothly. He takes care of any issues that come up in a caring and timely manner. I appreciate how he keeps me updated on the happenings of the days and provides details and stories about Mom and makes me feel good when he shares things that prove to me how much he cares and really knows Mom now.
I had a hard time with handing over the care of my mom to people who didn't know her or love her the way I do. But they made it easy to trust them as I found Mom clean and dressed nicely each day I visited. All of the caregivers are wonderful - [names removed] to name a few - and I so appreciate their kindness, caring, and love they show daily.
[Name removed] is the activity director and she amazes me with the job she does. She keeps the residents busy and having fun as much as possible. She knows each resident in detail and their likes and dislikes and treats each person as her own grandparent. She's great at handling difficult situations and making residents smile. As [name removed], she gets right in at the caregiving too. [name removed] just hired an assistant, [name removed], and I already see her embracing the methods used by [name removed].
Because I visit often, I have gotten to know all of the other residents as well. I am happy to see how well they are cared for too.
Finding a place for Mom, and no longer having her by my side daily, was one of the most difficult processes I've had to deal with in my life. Even more difficult than caring for her for so long. The people at Freedom Place helped me trust that I made the right decision and that I've found the best place for her. Mom settled in very quickly. She is always smiling and I see that she is happy and content. It does my heart good to know she is safe and well cared for.

Excellent Care
We placed our mom here at Freedom Place after her Dr. advised us she needed additional care. This is a brand new facility, beautifully decorated with safe patio areas. The director AK is excellent. His primary corncern is the health and well being of the residents. He cared for our mother as if she was his mom.The staff is caring and professional yet made sure we were updated with any problems or concerns they had for moms care. The food is delicious, home cooked food. We had Thanksgiving dinner with mom that was just like what we would have cooked at home. I highly recommend Freedom Place. Unfortunately Mom passed away but while there she was valued and had excellent care.

All great but the director
The staff is great. The building is beautiful and new. There is an outdoor patio so people can be outside but they are still safe. The price is amazingly low. The only problem is the [Removed] director, who treats family members like garbage. Steer clear of her and you will be fine.

Decided It Was Not Going To Be A Good Fit
After meeting with the staff here and discussing my husbands level of care needs we determined that his level of care might exceed what they are able to provide. They had concerns about the ability of what he could and could not do for himself. The staff was very friendly and nice. The community appeared to be well taken care of very clean it was just the level of care they were able to provide.
