I know it looks like a "shill" did this review, but even when i put my white gloves on i can't find room for improvement. About 5 years ago my mother and stepfather, in their 80's, started to go down physically and mentally. For 2 1/2 years we struggled with caring for them in their own home. That is what they wanted and the family honored those wishes until it got to be too difficult.
2 1/2 years ago we started looking around for an assisted living facility to move them..Between the four children we looked at many facilities. We finally agreed on Acacia Manor in Burlingame, CA. That turned out to be the best decision we made for their care during the last years of their life.
What were the most important factors in my rating them as EXCELLENT. Most important was the daily caregiving including feeding, cleaning, dispensing medications and regular monitoring. The staff at Acacia Manor goes way beyond what is necessary. In fact, they treated them like family would, not just a job. They talked to them, were gentle, and monitored their needs continually.
Secondly, the facility was kept extremely clean all the time. Thirdly, they coordinated very well with Hospice. Other issues of note: the staff prepared regular, healthy, tasty meals; the facility is located in a good neighborhood; it is easily accessible from the freeway.
All in all, you can do nothing better than place your loved one at Acacia Manor.

Acacia Manor Care Home has been serving the elderly community of San Mateo County since 1996. Our friendly and caring staff brings many years of elderly care experience and is available to assist our residents 24 hours a day. We also have a nurse that can provide health care services.
Acacia Manor is located on Newlands Ave. in an old, prestigious area near downtown Burlingame and adjacent to renowned Hillsborough.
We are minutes from major hospitals, medical offices, and Senior Centers. We have a number of churches with different denominational backgrounds conveniently located near our home. The facility is very close to public transportation and the San Francisco International Airport. On warm and beautiful days, our residents enjoy taking walks to nearby parks.
